This Week's Official Bigfoot Thread

A few years back there was something in the woods around central OK..

Was it a 'squatch??...Hmmm probably

Did you see it?...No

Did you see evidence footprints..hear howls??....Yes I did

Did other people report similar experiences?...Yes..at that time hunters and farmers in the area reported similar evidence and suspicions. Baby calves were disappearing, and a state trapper was called in and caught coyotes..but that wasn't the problem..and he state trapper dude said as much...he blamed 'human predators'

It was a weird deal...but only lasted for a year or so. Whatever it was moved on. No more creepy feelings in the woods..no more weird footprints. calves quit disappearing beyond normal predators(which usually leave some remains). Old-timers report that strange things wander the Cimarron river at night...and come and go.

That's about all I know about skunk apes...I believe...enough evidence seen and heard to keep me aware when I go to the woods.

I'm surprised that no one else has had any encounters too or your afraid to post about it?

Come on I told about my experiences.

Like some commentors I would like to believe that Bigfoot exists but I would have to think that someone would have found a dead Bigfoot by now.

My daughter lived in Colorado. When she was about 13-15 she was walking home from babysitting the children in the house across the street from hers. It was about midnight with moderate light from the moon. She was walking up the stairs to her front door when she said she heard twigs crackling. She said she turned around and saw a dark figure, about 8'-9' tall. She said it stepped into the drainage culvert between her house and the house nextdoor and step out walking to their backyards and into the trees of Pike's Peak Nat'l Park. She described the culvert as about 4' wide and about 3' deep. She said whatever it was "one stepped it" into and out of the ditch.

Now I've kind of got to believe my daughter's story but I would rather see physical evidence to substantiate these stories.

As Carl Sagan once said: "Extraordinary claims requite extraordinary evidence."

That being said, my father certainly has a story to tell about what he thinks may well have been a "bigfoot" or whatever name you have for it. I don't doubt his story for a second, but until someone can scientifically prove the existence of such creatures, I must err on the side of skepticism as to what he actually experienced.

Science (so called) has given us "global warming" (what a joke).
I would always believe my father over any scientific study...
Seeing is believing, science is lab work with a grant(taxpayers money). I give your father a high five......

Because of the belt, it looks to me like a man in a ghillie suit, perhaps home made. Probably a hunter doing some scouting.

John

I sure hope you are right. To the best of my knowledge it was in May..maybe a little early for scouting. My camera is infared and the deer show up grey without any adjustment to the fix button. It baffled me why the shot of it was totally dark. I almost deleted it without further checking. Thanks for your input.

I hope they're real--possibly descended from or even representatives of Gigantopithecus--but it's hard to get past all the dubious sightings, definitely mistaken sightings, and outright fakery that have clouded the issue.

I can imagine their being elusive enough to remain largely out of human view. I have a little trouble with the fact that no clearly identified remains of dead ones have been recorded. I know, I know, rodents in the forest, or perhaps they bury their dead. I rather doubt it.

But I want to believe.

Bigfoot(s) ((BigFEET?? :D)) are real, they are called: Basketball Players!

This comes from when i was a tiny tot-my Sister and future Brother-in_Law were dating and not thinking of a wedding and they took me to a College Basketball Ga=me. At the end of the game-I wondered onto the Court to try to meet a player-I tugged on their shirts but was not seen or felt till one tripped over me. My Sis was in a panic that I disappeared until one hoisted my onto his shoulders and I was spotted immediately.

I suspect you'll be hearing from some Indian participants on this forum about that statement. Or perhaps not.

BigBill that sounds cool, all the years I've hunted the northern Maine woods I've never had anything like that happen.

None of us have seen an atom, yet we all know they exist. Most of us believe in God, yet none of you have seen Him. Just saying...

BigBill, what you heard was a Wendigo. If you have a kindle you can download the story for free on Amazon. If you do read it you may not want to venture into the woods again.

I never heard of this but from what I read already it's very interesting. Just over a few mountains from me there is the same screams going on in this one area even the native Vermonters know it's there and won't go there.

There are many scary things out there, but once their removal from the "unknown" column occurs, turn out to be innocuous.

I'm reminded of the story I heard about a little boy named Mark who lived near a graveyard.

One night he heard his name being called from on the other side of the wall which separated his home from the graveyard. It was very distinct, "Mark! Mark!"

Screwing up all of his courage, the boy climbed out of his bedroom window, and ran up close to the wall, where he could hear his name being called again, this time louder. "Mark! Mark!"

Unable to satisfy his curiosity, he climbed the wall and dropped to the other side. It was still for a while, and then he heard it again, apparently originating from behind a tombstone a few yards away. "Mark! Mark!"

Needless to say, Mark was scared stiff, but he cautiously approached the big grave marker. It was much louder now, and for sure, whatever was calling his name was on the other side of the tombstone. "MARK! MARK!"

Mark HAD to know, so, screwing up all of his courage, trembling and eyes wide, he peeked around the edge of the granite stone to solve the mystery...

And there it was...

Again do you think this dogman thing is really a Wendigo? There are dogman stories on you tube. It sounds like it's the same beast.

I'm not afraid to venture into to the wilds.

I just seen a few minutes of the mountain monsters show which I have never seen before. I wonder if it's scripted? If I was with those guys an ak47 instead of a shotgun would be my choice of weapon. There showing blood and guts of yotes and piglets but is it a Hollywood staged thing or is it really happening. Like the bfro tv show there is never a positive proof or ending in a convincing note it's really real. They seem to leave us hanging till the next show. In having encounter after encounter staying in one spot. I'm surprised when they hit a good hot spot they don't stay there and get deeper into the investigation.

The pond prints seem to look like bass spawning beds. I've seen these bass spawning beds on the bottom when the water conditions are low.

No one else with a sighting or encounter to talk about your kidding me right? The eastern part ok Oklahoma has a lot of reports and sightings along with Texas too. We have no okies here?

I keep an open mind and can only say exactly what's happening to me. I'm not sure what it is yet but it's not normal. Even my kids who are adults when they go to my camp they tell me it's still following them in and out of the woods.

Bigbill,

My Grandaddy used to say a man telling another man what he did or did not experience, when you were not there, is a sign of a man who's ego is much better developed than his manners.

I appreciate your stepping up and telling your story, in spite of some of the naysayers, only you know what you saw/experienced.

I used to have people argue with me about Mountain Lions being in our area, until one was spotted and photographed on the edge of a sub-division that adjoins 1000 undeveloped acres here. We're still pretty rural. I'd heard and seen them at night, but kept getting told they were extinct in this area until then. Apparently the Mountain Lions still haven't gotten the news they are extinct.

I've talked with honest folks who said they've seen and smelled them. There is no doubt that they believe what their senses told them. I've spent a fair amount of time in the woods and never had that kind of experience. I have seen cougar, bears, deer, elk, and even a moose here one time. I saw timber wolves back when the game department said there were no wolves in Washington. I've seen grizz here too, in Northeast. People didn't believe me, but I know what I saw.

I believe it's entirely possible that some sort of “Big Foot/Yeti” creature inhabits the deeply forested portions of the United States. My only question is, if they exist in numbers, why hasn’t one been trapped or killed, or better yet caught on clear movies or video?

I live in OKC & I don't recall ever hearing any thing about Bigfoot sightings in Oklahoma. Maybe around the Arbuckles would be an area they would most likely be seen, but again I haven't heard anything.
