Tyler T-Grips

Wonder if any of you forum members live in Oklahoma near Tyler-T's factory?? If so why not pay them a visit and ask whats going on! Any Leo's in this forum live near-by? Either active or retired, why not just pay them a visit?? Just a idea here. ...

Quite frankly, I don't mind a long wait. It's just the NOT KNOWING that annoys me. Especially when they get your hopes up with an announcement that they send a batch out. =(

Why doesn't someone else start making them? The patent has to be off, I believe it is 7 years, and all you need is a stamping and cutting machine. A RESPONSIBLE company would clean up.

p.s. then again look how long it takes to get a letter from S&W.

I'm seriously contemplating on attempting to make a few and see how they come out. I took a metals class in college (1998) and still remember a few things about casting. I own 3 different sizes (K frame round and square, and a Ruger Security Six). Aluminum is one of the easiest metals to cast and also one of the least expensive to acquire in bulk.

I understand the patent thing. If I succeed, I'd have to modify the design and make it my own. Just don't know why anyone else hasn't done it yet? I mean people make their own grips out of wood and that takes a hell of a lot more work... If I owned all their different models, I could cast them all and tweak them. I'll let the forum know if I get around to attempting this.

It's out there man. I'll take 3 RB J's, and 4 RB K's in polished.

Don't put them out of business before I get the 4 t-grips I ordered and paid for at the end of June.

I just ordered one of the plastic BKGrips to give a try. I'm sure the T-Grip will get here some day but thought the BK was worth a try.;)

This is a great idea! I ordered one for my Model 67 in May. Still nothing.

If somebody is nearby and can let the fellow know that a whole bunch of us are (a) pulling for him to recover from the tornado, and (b) really anxious to get our grips, it might help.

Well see THIS group of delays is due to a 'tornado.' Last year it was due to a death in the family. Two years ago it was because they were moving. I wish they had as many grip adaptors as they do excuses.

Tyler T Grips are fantastic, but after trying to order one set I gave up trying to get new ones.

Now I just hoard old ones, like some sort of aluminum loving squirrel.

I may have taken it too far.

I need to go through and figure out what goes to what. I have a couple friends who have already spoken for 2 of the Colt Detective Specials (one of the ones in the box).

One of the other boxed ones is a 3R which is on my "S&W hand grenade" (my nickname for the aluminum cylinder pre-model 12) in the above picture.

The other box had the wrong one in it.

I'm pretty much just left with the Gold Square Butt K-Frame #3 on the right hand size. If I can't figure out where it belongs I'll send you a PM Alnamvet68.

But, it's gold. GOLD! My squirrel brain tells me I should keep that one.

Seriously though I would suggest being compulsive about looking for these on ebay. The reason none of those were on guns before a few minutes ago is that I just bought 12 of them off of ebay. They were all on buy it now for either $15 or $22 and in a bout of ebay madness I just mashed buy it now on all of the ones I could. I've been trying to get some of these for a reasonable price for years now, so it was nice to see that they can in fact actually be acquired for something less that that insane $70 price tag the more desirable ones seem to get up to on Ebay.

One other note: the seller I bought these from has a bunch of the Pachmayr ones up if anyone wants them. They were reasonably priced too, so if anyone is looking for those and hasn't checked ebay yet I would suggest doing so.

Haha! I was grabbing every other one that same seller was listing. You beat me to a few good ones, good job. :)

I'm sitting here laughing pretty hard right now.

Please tell me you didn't snag a black N frame, or I don't know if I can be friends with you. ;)

Be careful not to compare Roy Jinks and Tyler T-Grip.

Roy Jinks does ALL of the letters, in addition to providing ship dates to S&WCA members on this forum, and in addition to answering and researching every single question on the "Ask Roy Jinks" section of this forum, and all of that is in addition to everything he does for S&WCA, the Heritage Foundation, the Connecticut Valley Museum, Smith & Wesson, and goodness knows what else. I know he is terribly back logged. He is up front about that. Tread lightly, please. Roy is a very honorable and honest man. You will get your letter.

I got a silver #4 but not a black one. Someone else must have also been in on the feeding frenzy.

Hmmm, funny. The web site says all back orders should be shipped by July 24th.

Quote: As of July 9th 2013 we are currently finishing all production of the brushed T-grips and should have them shipped by July 12th. The Flat and Shinny Black finishes will be finished and shipped by July 17th 2013. The polished mirror finishes in bronze and aluminum will be finished and shipped by July 24th 2013. All Trigger shoe orders to date will be shipped out with the July 17th shipments. Thank you to all of our customers that have been waiting patiently we appreciate all of the letters of support. It has been quiet a task to relocate after the damage sustained by the tornados that ripped through our state. We will update this site on the dates stated above as conformation of shipments. JR Unquote.

Looks like they did not make the guesstimated schedule!

If I didn't have two Ordered from the Tyler-T Factory which are already "Paid For" I would order from you! I just got to wait till they come!
