I know I am, I really enjoy the series. I hope the new season is as good as the last two.

I would not read any of these post if you are not current with the episodes. I am sure of some SPOILER ALERTS BELOW.

Wasn't impressed, never watched the second episode. Sticking with walking dead. But they will lose me if they keep killing off the cuties.

Two things I've waited for all summer....new season of Hell On Wheels and Nascar at Watkins Glen...and both on the same day:D

I'm looking forward to final season of Breaking Bad starting tomorrow night!

What's Hell on Wheels about?
It's immediate post Civil War and the expansion of the railroad westward. A town is built along the route, inhabited by the workers, store owners, prostitutes, vagabonds, entrepreneurs and thieves. Crooked bought off politicians, ruthless railroad owner and investors too. Much like today. :D

Yes! I have been waiting for the new season for a long time. What time does it start? I tried looking online, but there was just too much information and not what I wanted. That's the trouble with Google...

9pm, got my DVR set in case. I think it repeats during the week, once.

What's Hell on Wheels about?

Tonight 8/10/2013, At 9:00PM EST. On AMC

You should check it out. If you like westerns and the late 1800s time period then you might like the show. I do warn you that it is a little gritty and violent. But so was that time period. Its hard to explain the show but the posts on the thread are correct but thier is alot more to it than just the railroad. Alot of small plot stories that all roll into a great overall plot line with twists and turns.

I love Walking Dead but some episodes were boreing but were needed to set up future episodes. So far with Hell on Wheels every episode has been entertaining with no down time for plot build up, it just wasn't needed.

For more detailed information I suggest you look at the post below this one.

Arlo,

A more specific answer is: It's about the building of the FIRST transcontinental railroad. The series is focused on the part that started in Council Bluffs, IA and went west through Nebraska, Wyoming and into Utah. That was the Union Pacific which exists today. The UP met the Central Pacific at Promontory Point, Utah in 1869. The firearms portrayed are generally correct percussion revolvers.
One character, Dr. Durant, was a key person in the group of promoters who backed the UP(and stole enormous sums as the RR was being built). It's a fun series focused mainly on the sinning in the Hell-on-Wheels mobil town that followed the workers.

Thanks, guys. Sounds entertaining. I'll check it out.

FYI: Looks like Netflix has the first two seasons.
