I am in the process of having a pond dug in my bottom pasture. Due to the nature of the land, most of the dirt has to be hauled away. So I think, why not put some of that dirt to good use & build a nice, large shooting berm. :)

This is a work in progress and I will update as we proceed. I have purchased quite a few AR500 steel targets from Mark at ShootingTargets7.com and we are in the process of painting them & building stands. I will state Mark has been great to work with and has a great product that is cut with waterjet cutters, that keep the steel cool which keeps the steel hard. I had a need for a couple of 10" gongs with a 3" hole in the middle and he made them for me special... at no extra charge. Doubt he would do so for a single order but did so for me.

I don't see any union workers... that sure isn't here in Illinois. Ok, so they wouldn't be working, but they would be there watching someone else work.

Nope... just a much bigger & better redneck than me doing the work. He lives a few houses down from me and raises cattle too. When the weather is good, they work long & hard. Last few days his daughter has been running the tractor & pan.

Anything under a couple of acres IS a pond. :)

Yep, at least around here. This one will finish off to about an acre.

They still have a lot of dirt to take out, so the berm has more dirt coming. The area where the Gator is sitting is currently at the 3' mark & will end up at around 7'. Then they will finish off the berm, making it look all pretty & give me a front slope of 1:1.

if you need an annoying neighbor, just let me know. i could move out there within a 2 weeks notice at work LOLOLOLOL

I do find it funny how so many folks put down Mississippi... in many cases rightfully so. However we are blessed with lots of open land, friendly folks and lawmakers that believe in states rights and generally keeping their nose out of a person's private life. They all love guns too.

i wasnt putting down missi. i was calling myself annoying because id be shooting at your range DAILY! (and probably asking for snacks lololol)

It's good to see my equipment out there... Let me know when you want to get rid of those ugly green things and replace them with real construction equipment.

Sorry, I didn't mean to imply that... my bad. What I was trying to say, as best a dumb redneck can, is that so often, the general population looks down on my state. However, with all this government intrusion in our lives & hobbies, many now are seeing the good in our state too. I have lived for a bit in California, was stationed in North Dakota & have traveled extensively. I still would stay where I am. Doesn't hurt that I live on 20 acres & am surrounded by huge landowners who raise cattle... and are very friendly. Throw in gardens, orchards, berries, horses, dogs, deer, rabbits, squirrels, etc...well to me, it is paradise. Will be even more so with this shooting range on my own property & 3 suppressed 22s.

Of course you would be welcome to shoot here. IMO, shooting is much better when done with friends.

 Shameful! Let me know and I'll contact the local Cat dealer and enlighten your current understanding of how to properly move earth with Cat equipment...
