Show your motorcycles!!

One more; here's my Elite 110 scooter. Brand new in 2010. Hey, chuckle all you want. But the top speed is 49 (used to be 52 until they started putting too much ethanol in the gas). The speed limits in town are all 40mph. They won't normally write you a ticket unless you're 10mph over the limit. SOooooo I've gotten ZERO tickets on this thing...with it WOUND OUT all the time. Trying doing that on an XR250L or 750... Oh, and it'll beat the cars off the line, so it's safe. Though it is awfully quiet...(loud pipes save lives).

This is the airweight J frame of motorcycles.

Never underestimate the touring ability of the small scooters. A friend of mine did a trip on a Chinese 150 a few years ago from Big Bend down into Copper Canyon, to the Sea of Cortez, back through Chihuahua and back to Texas. (He no longer sells that brand, so the link to his trip report is no longer on his site.) Here is a more recent trip from Advrider.com: 110cc scooters bushwhacking in Malaysia.

Here is one of my favorites, Suzuki DR650, on the road from Ojinaga to Chihuahua.

Bob R, The picture of your Hurricane 1000 brought back some fond memories! I had three of them: two '88's & one '87. Great bikes...super comfortable sport tourer.

I love that bike. I am seriously considering turning it into a track bike, I figure I can do short stints on it, but an all day ride is out of the question these days, that is if I want to walk at the end of the day. I bought that one new in 1988, in CA, sold a Suzuki GS1100E to buy it.

Yeah! And whenever funds were running low he would happen on a hill climb, where guys with three foot extended swing arms couldn't make the hill, but on a stock suspended Sportster, with street tread(and the Sportster, magically transformed, into a Hodaka 100 I believe)would shoot right up the hill!:D

And then he could rebuild the whole bike overnight after fishing it out of the lake!

And where did he put that huge tent? And the coffee pot?

:D

I will "LIKE" the whole thread and a big thanks for the pics. Like a lot of things in life, this has been phased out of mine.
Blessings

I rode a 74 BMW R90 for 27 years....it really needed a rebuild & I just don't have the time & place to do it right now so I found a replacement: a 1983 Goldwing Interstate with 29,000 original miles. I managed to put almost 1000 miles on it before the weather went away. The BMW is in storage at the present time.
