Every now and then you need to take the little lady out and show her that you really love her and that she means the world to you.
Today was our 19th Anniversary and I took her out to a high priced dinner house that she had never been to before.
I let her order her salad but I did the ordering for the main course and all the rest, since she falls into a rut on ordering the same thing, time after time.

Every thing was great along with the service..........could not ask for a better way to make her happy. She was stuffed and enjoyed every minute of the outing............

After all she has done for me over the years, I just might have to come back to this place next year !!

Life is great.

What is that stuff? Kinda looks like someone barfed on the plate! (I am no kind of gourmet...give me a T-bone or a chicken fried steak any day.)

On the other hand, since it was for her, anything you did to make her happy was great!

I'll take the Missus to our favorite steakhouse twice a year. Usually when we're in the area on vacation, but every now and then,we'll just take a leisurely drive down that way with this place as our destination. It's always SUPERB and reminds us of what steak used to taste like. In our little burg, there's not a single place left where you can buy PRIME beef. :( Yes it's pricey, but when I drive 100 miles one way to eat a steak, you can bet your azz it's GOOD! Some of you may have been there. It is THE number one steakhouse in Myrtle Beach,in all of SC if you ask me! Try it if you are ever down that way.

Congrats on the great meal for the spouse and glad service was good..........really makes the meal!!!

Our best to the wife!!:)

I took the Lovely Missus P&R Fan out for dinner tonight to one of the most famous restaurants in town. On Tuesday they have a special. 99 cent tenderloins. Best in town.
Bill came to $7.46.
We did leave almost a 50% tip though.:D

Never let it be said I don't treat her right.

I agree with the OP, taking your wife out to a nice meal in an upscale restaurant is always a nice change of pace. The cost is just something you learn to live with, not to difficult considering the return on your investment!;)

We went out Sunday and drove down the coast to the Rockland area, had a nice lunch at a restaurant we like and went wine tasting at a few local wineries. It was a beautiful day and we had a great time. Sure, it cost me close to $250 between gas, lunch, and the bottles of wine we brought home, but money is made to be spent and there are few better ways to spend it than making my wife happy.

And, congrats on your anniversary, Nevada Ed. I'll bet that stuffed lobster was delicious!

Congrats on the anniversary!, I gave GKC a thumbs up because my first thought was...looks like something a cat upchucked LOL..I'm sure the phone did not do the dinner justice...sorry still chuckling and my first thought LOL

Am I seeing lobster and rare beef on risotto, there?
Ooh yeah!

Well worth the price for a fine meal out with the wife.

When I lived on the East coast (and made a lot more money), I would dine out at least once a month.
I really miss that here in Tn.

BTW, dining implies fine dining. Eating out, or going out to eat is what we do most of the time. :D

My wife and I just got back from a vacation of her choice as she's been in school the last few years and just became an RN at 55 years old and started a new job as one. It wasn't what I'd have picked for myself to do and did make a good time of it but we do have to treat our wives well especially since mine will be my caregiver as well.
When we went to Detroit in January so she could test for her state license we walked into a restaurant that looked nice but was way pricey too. Dinner came to $165.00 but the steaks were some of the best we've ever had and the service excellent too. It was an excellent way to celebrate her testing which she passed and an ego boost for her as well.
Would I rather have spent that money on a S&W revolver? Yes but the benefit from spoiling her a bit is worthwhile any day. Maybe now too she'll quit complaining about the vacations I took before without her.

For Mother's Day (wife and I only have furry children. I have a daughter and two granddaughters from a previous marriage), I cooked a special dinner. Some "designer noodles" with an authentic goulash and home-made bread. Takes about 4 hours to make the goulash, including toasting and grinding the spices, two types of paprika, etc. It's her favorite meal.

Nice way to mark the day. I'm glad you had a good time and thought to mention it here: reading about it and the comments folks made was a nice break.

Gina and I go out to supper a fair amount; it's one of those things we really enjoy doing together. We've got our nineteenth coming up later this year . . . :)
