So i was always curious if anyone has had one edc that they've had for years. I at one point had so many options in my house i was switching guns constantly. Now i forced myself to carry my shield. Pics of pretty worn out finishes are always cool so if you have any post them up!

I've carried a Colt 1911 Commander ( light weight ), Colt government model or S&W m 38 for 35+ years.

Sorry, my photo posting skills are very limited.

Never found a reason to change although I get to shoot most more recent handguns.

Carrying, training and practicing with one gun means you'll be most proficient with that one. That's what I want should I ever need it. So, I'll only carry the one.

It doesn't hurt that it's my favorite gun too.;)

Taurus 85 C for 19 years. Retired the Taurus this week and replaced it with Shield .40 S&W. The Shield is more comfortable in my front right pants pocket.

I carried my Glock 19 4th Gen for about 3 years. I'm now onto my M&P Shield 9mm

I purchased a Colt Cobra in '68 as my off-duty gun and still have it. It gets a trip to the range now and then but has been replaced by a 442.

I have carried a 1911 since 1963 including twenty-two years in the military. My current 1911s for EDC vary from one year to four years old. I have carried my Glock G20 10mm since 1992 in rural areas.

642 for 3 years as a BUG and a G19 for 3 1/2 years, but my .45 3rd Gen Smith is replacing the G19.

Would post photos, but I don't have any of the 642 that show the wear. I'll try and post some soon.

I still have my 1st carry gun, although I haven't actually carried it in Decades... S&W Model 19-3. I got it in 1975.
I also still have my G19 that I got in late 1989 and carried it until I picked up on a PF-9 in 2009 and started Pocket Carrying.
My Shield replaced my PF-9 in May 2012 ('cause it's basically the same size as the PF-9 but so much nicer to shoot), but I still have the PF-9 too.

Only Four different carry guns over 4 Decades... Not bad, I guess. :)

In my younger years I carried something different all the time. Then I carried my model 60 no dash snubby for 15 years straight both as backup and off duty. Now I'm a lot older and have a 642. Still have the 60 but the diffence in the weight makes me carry the 642. Plus if I ever had to use it I would rather not have to give up my trusty 60 just because I like her so much. She is resting comfortably in my safe in her retirement.

Im going to start carrying the shield 40 religiously now. I went through so many carry guns it was driving me nuts. I ended up selling a lot of them and kept the glock 23 and 30s since they both fit in my favorite holster and kept the shield for pocket carry and iwb with a mic holster.

Anyone else carry in a mic holster? during the summer months it is way to comfortable I just wouldn't do any running with it.

My oldest carry gun only goes back about 6 years but my primary house gun, an Ithaca Mod 37 M&P, has been on the job since 1969 because they haven't been able to improve on it.

I don't have a consistent carry piece, as my clothes dictate what I carry. In warm weather, it's been a M649 for some time, but it got replaced with a Shield in 9mm. In the cold, its a flip between my M19 2 1/2" and a M10 in 4". Depends on the day. Given the fact that I live in Michigan, the cold weather outweighs the warm, so more often than not, its a revolver for me.
