Howdy to everybody in the forum from Miami , Florida.
I'm in the process of swapping the hand guard and would like to hear from somebody about the adjustable gas blocks. Is there any in particular highly recommendable?

I am a big fan of the JP adjustable gas blocks. That being said, I have not used one on an M&P 10- their low-profile adjustable block is short enough to fit before the barrel narrows, and clamps to mount (very secure).

Because I was doing a free float forend, I realized I would not be able to reach the adjustment screw without removing the forend. Therefore, opted out of the cost of adjustable.

If you are handloading and fine tuning a specific load, I think they are worth their weight in gold and would buy JP in a heartbeat.

You have to ask yourself if an adjustable gas block is even needed. My MP-10 has a small gas port as it is

Need for adjustable gas Block

I don't fully understand what's going on. S&W must have been varying the gas port sizes???? Some folks are getting a big ten that comes from the factory overgased. Others are getting a factory gun that seems to be undergased???? What gives? The previous poster said his gun is obviously undergased. As it came; My Big Ten had a great propensity to give unsightly case head swipes on factory ammo. If I wanted to get rid of them, I had to back way off on the charges I put in my handloads. I'm very tempted to purchase one of the Syrac adjustable gas blocks and try it, but they are expensive. Another option would be to substitute a heavier buffer. However, I'll do almost anything to keep from adding additional weight to my gun. Anybody out there using a Syrac block on their M&P10? If so, did it do away with getting case head swipes on factory level ammo?
