My apologies to anyone I may have offended.

I don't even want to talk about this. I'm on my second quitting time of Cope also. Started when I was in 6th grade or so. Tobacco was no big deal then. My Pop worked for Dupont making antiknock compound for gasoline so he chewed at work and smoked at home. Quitting dip after doing it for a long time is the hardest thing I ever did. Quit first time for a year or two but, well you know. This time its been almost a year. I don't want to ever do it again. Hard to think that almost every day of my life since I was that young I had a dip in my mouth. I could have bought a Ferrari with the money I wasted.

Class III ... There is no half way, and if the worst thing you experience is a bit of Internet irritability you're doing great.

Many years ago, after far too much alcohol consumption throughout college, I decided to test myself. Stop consuming for one day. That one day led to a week, which led to a month, which led to more. Haven't had so much as a spit cup of booze since 1988; never missed it, I've saved a fortune, and I never worry about being nailed for DWI. The downside is that for the last two + decades I am the official tee-totaling designated driver for everyone. :)

Clean livin' ...

I smoked for over 40 years. I quit 15 years ago and have never looked back. The worse I did to my self was to my teeth. I came down with COPD last year and it's probably related to smoking even though I quit 15 years ago. The doctors have told me I'd probably be dead by now if I had continued smoking. Thankfully I've avoided lung cancer so far. I have a friend in Stage 4 and it's not a pretty sight.

Your over the Nicotine addition. It is gone in around 3 days. You are now just your normal cheerful self!:D

It's a tough, row to hoe. Nicotine is a sneaky damn drug. You really are never over it. I quit many times. Relapsed and BAM! right back to 1 1/2 packs a day. it's crazy.

After 30 years of smoking finally off them for 10 years.
I had to avoid coffee and drinking as they always went together,

You can do it, stay in a supportive group. go to meetings, Church whatever works for you!.

1 is too many 10 is not enough .(or however much you dipped) I tried it but was not my thing.

It is a never ending battle. Find another thing to occupy the urge. Eat celery, tooth picks, gum, hard candy something.

I had to use Chantix but I did manage to quit after multiple tries with other methods. I haven't had a cigarette since April of 2007 and I still occasionally want one. But like folks have said, you're just about through the worst of it so hang in there.

Chew was harder for me to quit than smoking, I still miss a good cigar and know better than to ever take another chew. My dentist originally scared me off chewing, I went back to smoking and finally left that behind. Drink alot of orange juice, vitamin C helps cleans your system of nicotine, its kind of a cheap detox.

Class 111; I understand your predicament exactly. I smoked for 19 years, giving it up in 1974.But chewing is another matter. I dipped Skoal for 58 years until last year. Had 2 stents put into my Aorta. The doc said to stop chewing or else. It's been a year now but the craving for some Skoal is still there, particulary after a meal. I use some sugarless hard candy to stop the craving. It's OK but not the real thing. The thing is that when I started chewing Skoal was 15 cents a can. When I quit last year it was $4.55 & even higher now.

Dick, I'm fast approaching 53. Smoked grapevine from about 10 yo to about 12 yo. Moved from grapevine to Marlboro to Winston to Lebanese Blonde to Black Tar at 22 YO. Took a full year + in rehab to KILL the monkey on my back.

Hence the reference to having 4 teeth pulled only under a local anesthesia.

If it's more than a couple of aspirin or Tylenol, you're looking in the wrong direction for me.

I've had teeth pulled, broken bones set and my testickle's removed from my throat without the need of a general, and in most cases only a local was required, especially for dental work.

To all that wished and prayed for me... Thank you.

All I can say is there are days/times where I wish I could tear some ones head off, **** in their neck and rub their face in my ****.

AAAAUGHHH. If ONLY THE FORUM FILTERS KNEW WHAT NICOTINE WITHDRAWAL WAS ALL ABOUT!!!

I quit with the help of electronic cigs..Not the perfect solution I know but it worked..Feel better....Smell better, and my car smells new...Even if there was no health issue the prices of tobacco have gone way to high...I was spending almost 250 per month for cigarets.. Lot of guns I could have bought!

One of my best buds says quitin' Tobacco is easy.

Said he quit 10 or 12 times.
