Who makes the best hotdogs.

I admit, I haven't tried the Hebrew National, saw them in the store, but never tried. Main reason is the wife says they give her gas. I guess they'd have to be for me only if I like them. She will only eat the all beef, usually Nathan's, me I like the regular meat dogs too.
BTW, we also do the Boston dinner thing too sometimes..........beans and franks. :D

I always was told women didn't pass gas. Maybe thats the problem.

Hebrew National is the best (and healthiest) beef "red hots".

Zweigle's or Sahlen's are the champs for pork "white hots" and close runners-up for red hots (especially on the grill).

Zweigle's on the grill....mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...not sure but I think it's a regional thing.

Kosher rules are pretty specific.

Kosher rules are CRAZY specific. I used to work for a company that made and distributed sweeteners. They were deemed as "Kosher". It took inspections and payments to be able to put that on their stuff. And of course blessings on the tanker trailers we hauled.

Either Hebrew National for a packaged dog or my local IGA sells natural casing wieners in the deli. They aren't cheap but they rock.

Okay, so for starters I picked up a package of Kayem's and a package of Hoffman's. Haven't tried them yet, but sampled them sliced cold and so far I like the Kayem's best, Hoffman's seemed a little rubbery, wife noted that too, we'll see how they turn out when done up hot. I'm going to sample some of the other suggestions too until I get it right for me and the frau.

Only had them once Wranglers original in natural casing. They had that crunch! Beef dogs are now $6 + a pack - soon to be a buck apiece

I just bought two packs of 8--Ball Park Angus Beef dogs for almost $5 a pack. Gunna make some Beanie Weenies using Bushs Baked beans and a full pack of these--starting tonight or maybe when the next cold front blows through.

The Pillsbury Crescent roll and the hot dog.

Bush original baked beans on the bottom, slice the dogs like canoes, stuff them with cheese, place on top of the beans cheese up. Now cover it all with sliced bacon. Bake at 350/375 till the bacon is cooked. I hope you make enough. This is a killer dish on a cold night. It's a belly warmer.

How the heck does a Western NY'er NOT mention Thumman's?

My buddy brought a couple cases back from NYC, and I've raved about them ever since....

Thumann's - The Deli Best Hot Dogs

However, I must confess that I'm not all THAT particular. I fiend over Mexican style dogs her in Phoenix, and I am sure the brand is something low-rent to keep the profits up, LOL. Vienna Beef, Chi-style on poppy-seed, sure. Cut and grilled over charcoal, oh yeah. Browned in a pan with oil, ..nice.

Kudos to Ball Parks latest 'Park's Finest' flavors, which I find a very satisfying dog.

We had a restaurant in northern jersey 20 minutes from the city. All we served was thummans dogs.

Where having lamb chops tonight but I want dogs, cheese, bacon, beans bummer.

Any good quality dog cooked on a char-wood mixed fire. That hardwood fire makes any dog taste freaking awesome.

I'll second that. I'm not familiar with brand differences since I rarely eat them. But we roast them over a fire at gatherings at my brother's place and it makes all the difference in the world.

Regards,
Andy
