Too true, it's not just immigrants. No doubt we have U.S. natives here who are being radicalized and trained to commit terrorist acts.
Not all are Muslims, either, by a long shot. Timothy McVeigh and his ilk come to mind.
We'll almost certainly have an attack of this kind here, possibly a train bombing or some such atrocity. But NSA notwithstanding, it isn't possible to watch everybody. And I wouldn't want anyone to have that ability.

Instead of worrying about people that wear hats indoors or in a restaurant, people need to start worrying about this because it's going to happen here soon. The link below is to unedited footage of the attack and I'll warn you right now, the second video on the page is quite graphic. It shows the viewer what happened beyond what normal broadcast channels are showing. Keep in mind also that the man that is on the ground pleading for his life, is / was an "unarmed" police officer. Don't watch it if you think it might disturb you in any way.

I believe in free speech and the right to ridicule religion should be allowed. But why do it? "Because I have the right to free speech dammit!" Those cartoonists knew they were antagonizing unstable, homicidal animals. What other result should they suspect. I wouldn't suggest going to Ferguson a few months ago to call the protestors names, but that's your right. Unfortunately, that would be suicide by rabid human. This is how the homicidal insane react. Suprised? I'm not. I live in the real world. I also don't walk around at night in bad neighborhoods flashing cash, although I'm certainly allowed to do just that.

The French have long had a very practical approach to terrorists and terrorism. They'll continue to do so, I believe.
Things look to get ugly in Europe. Sweden is moving to the right and there are those who want to expel many immigrants. Switzerland has maintained it's homogeneity and doesn't allow many immigrants in. The other countries with Muslim immigrant problems are starting to rethink their policies.
al-Sisi, of Egypt says that the Muslim world is bringing this sort of thing on themselves by not curtailing the radicals in their midst. In a speech widely ignored by the media, he chastised the Muslim clerisy and challenged them to reform the religion.
I see an end to the political correctness regarding Islam and some very ugly reactions from much of the world. It's just a matter of when.

Most of the people I have encountered on this forum can differentiate between wearing hats indoors and terroristic murder. Most.

You are sorta right. If I ridicule your religion are you going to go on a killing spre? I bet not. And neither would i. People have different opinions and can express them anyway they wish but to go killing over a cartoon is childish behavior. Besides then what can you say or do because most things will anger someone. It can be political, religious, nationalistic, even random things like my car is better than your car. I guarantee you that with billions of people on this planet there is at least a dozen who would kill you for liking Ford better than Dodge

My final thought and comment on this thread is this.
These terrorists displayed all of the characteristics of unlawful combatants under the Geneva Accords. They are not affiliated with a recognized nation-state, they wore no uniforms or identifying garb, they are engaging in combat.
As such, they are not criminals, they are war criminals. They should be treated as such.

Ok then, so how should this have been prevented? I'm not so sure how effective expecting them grow up and put on their big boy whatever's will work as a strategy. Oh, it didn't. And I'm not a big fan of moral victories. The jihad is coming. Drawing cartoons is idiocy unless you are prepared to kill them. And no one was. I vote for their annilation, no harrassment necessary.

You draw cartoons to show you can't be bullied and to show your contempt for them and their room temperature IQ, thuggish ideology.
You exercise proper sight picture, breathing control and trigger squeeze to make sure they CAN'T bully you.
And let there be not the slightest doubt, I AM prepared to kill them, and in quite large numbers... as I suspect would be my cousin, who is himself a Muslim.

Pretty much sums it up for me. Counting up the "casualties of WAR" since the beginning (9/11/2001) we must be into the 5 digits. I figure maybe another doubling and folks might get really mad. Watching that unarmed French cop beg for his life before being executed I get a downright medieval stream of consciousness, which will be necessary on a societal scale, for proper action to be taken.
