blocked from bidding on GB

You are not missing much,Anything half way decent sells for stupid Money nowadays. Its more about ego and who's got the biggest bankroll than paying sane amounts for Guns. The same People bid on EVERY decent S&W Revolver, either buying it or bidding it up to the Sky.I think some of it comes from Collectors wanting to increase the values of the Guns they already have. Then they can say look....xxxx sold for $5,000!!

GUNBROKER IS NOT THE ONLY GAME IN TOWN, BUT ITS THE BIGGEST---NO MATTER WHAT THE HATERS SAY. JUST AN OBSERVATION……….

I'm blocked by GB!

When I got to the part that said they were going to charge me a monthly fee whether I was selling or not, I stopped and tried to back out.
I thought I had, but they started emailing me monthly saying I owed them money and I was locked out until I pay up!

I'm wondering when this started. I've been both buying and selling on Gunbroker for 10 or 12 years and have never been charged anything other than the fees I incur when I sell something. I haven't sold anything there for over a year, although I've bought several items, and haven't been charged a penny.

Blocking me was very wrong and unfair, I have good feedback and never have had any problems with any of my GB purchases.I am disappointed in the lack of responce from the seller, its not only rude, but also very unethical. The seller is Haris 0208 and he has a lot of items for sale He appears to be running a business, but here it is, the next AM , and I still haven`t heard a word from him. I caution you- my fellow forum members-to be careful if you ever deal with Haris0208.

While I think it's rude for a seller not to respond to a legit question, some folks aren't really in business at all, and others are in business to such a degree they simply don't find the time nor do they apparently care to respond. It would be an awfully nice service of auction sites to automatically provide YOU with the information up front: a little symbol next to the seller's name indicated that seller has blocked you.

Technically, that should be easy to do--and it could save everyone a lot of time. I know when I was more active on eBay I always had to deal with ensuring folks knew I didn't ship to Canada--at the time I didn't know how to block bidders for any reason.

I think logging in only starts AFTER you attempt to bid. If already logged in, it would behave differently.

I see you are from NC, so it isn't blocking States that are not eligible for shipment.

Not sure about what would happen with bidding, but make sure your account payment information is current.

I have bought and sold and am only paying a fee when I sell something or add a premium feature to an auction listing (include thumbnail, featured status, etc.).

I AGREE WITH firebreather. I HAVE BEEN BUYING AND SELLING FOR A LONG TIME. I NEVER HAD A PROBLEM, WAS ALWAYS SATISFIED WITH MY PURCHASE, AND WAS NEVER CHARGED A PENNY UNTIL I SOLD AN ITEM……….

A very strange thing just happened to me. I attempted to bid on a S&W m-26-1 on GB, and got a message that the seller had blocked me from bidding. What in the world is the meaning of that! Have you ever heard of such a thing before, I certainly never did. I sent him a question asking him to unblock me, but so far no answer. I am bumfuzzled!

I am the seller and I blocked you. Here's why: First, its not forum business but since you mentioned me so I will answer you. I am not here to please everyone and I am not looking for hard times when I sell a gun. You inquired about an absolutely new and unfired 26-1 and and asked me if the screws are "marred
and if the blueing was turning purple.
Make a long story short: You message gave me the impression(and maybe I am wrong) that when somone hits me up with questions like that, they are going to be so picky that
they wont be happy.
To save both of us grief at the expense of not getting more money from that auction, I blocked you

For the record, here is the message I received from you January 16th.

Sir, I can't tell from the photos ,so will you please advise, is the bluing turning purple , and are the side plate screws marred/dinged from improper disassembly? Thanks, jack

"We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone."

;)

As a buyer, I certainly have come to place high value on prompt communication.
As a seller, I try to live by the golden rule...:)

Gunbroker has been good with me for many years, although I'm not a high volume user (46 transactions since 2004).

The question I asked you was a legitimate one guns of that era are known to turn plum color. The side plate screws had something on them perhaps it was lint from a cleaning cloth , but it may have been marred screw heads,I couldn`t tell, from the photo, that is why I asked. All you had to do was answer- How else could I know?

This sounds like a discussion that can now be handled 'off forum' by PM's!

But it's so much more fun this way. We can all throw out our opinions, here's mine, if I'm paying that much for a gun I would expect my questions to be answered. I guess it's easier to block someone then to answer a legitimate question.
