Same thing as Wingmaster except I load both .357 and .38 special in the revolver. The luxury of a revolver ...

For the last two or so years it's been either a Model 10-5 2 inch or a Model 36. Up close and personal I feel the .38 special +P will do it's job just fine. Both carried with Federal 158gr. Lead hollow point in Bianchi 3s.

.38 Spl - Flat latch mod 36 loaded with Hydrashoks and a pocket speedloader. I shoot this one every time I go to the range. 1 quick shot followed by a double tap then 2 single action.

How many times have I answered this same question. A CS45, .45 acp. The results surprise me. I read an article just yesterday saying the military is coming full circle, disappointed with the 9mm, they are again considering the venerable .45acp.

Unfortunately, whatever they go with, it will still be ball ammo and not as effective as it could be. .45ACP is certainly better than 9mm in ball but it's still ball. :(

Nothing wrong with ball ammo. It has been defending people effectively for hundreds of years. Sure a hollow point might expand and that would be better, but I'm not going to try to talk someone out of ball ammo. It woks better in most guns.

Yes it has but lead ball ammo at least deforms on impact where as the "approved" jacketed ball ammo that the Geneva Convention dictates does not. For whatever reason, they deem anything else "inhumane". Last I checked, in a war situation, the idea is to kill the enemy. While ball ammo will do it, it does it less efficiently and is thus more "inhumane" than a soft point or hollow point is.

One could hunt deer, bear, or elk with ball ammo but the idea is a fast, clean kill. Ball ammo doesn't guarantee that was well.

I can't believe nobody has selected .50 Cal yet :).

I carry a M&P9C as I find it a very versatile pistol for capacity, size, and firepower. More like a jack of all trades, master of none.

I also carry an M&P40 full size occasionally, and have carried a 686. However 90% of the time I'm sporting the 9C.

I like to carry my M&P40 w/4 1/4 barrel with a TLR1 for alumination. OWN for carry.

Just to be clear- I see the above statement all the time.. After reading the below, If in doubt-research it.

The Geneva Convention has nothing to do with the decisions concerning military full metal jacketed (ball) ammo.

The prohibition on expanding ammunition is covered in The Hague Accords. Funny part of it is that the United States refused to sign and never formally agreed to the Accords.

The U.S. is part of NATO and since the U.S. tends to lead the way in standardization of NATO ammunition they also tend to stay within the Hague Accords since most of the NATO countries signed the Accords. So- we set standards for what they have all agreed to use.

Special Operations units and some Ranger units carry hollow-point ammo all the time. I served in Vietnam Nam and Desert Shield/Storm and lots of places in between. I have never carried ball ammo. We used Federal HS +p+ in the M9's and +p in .45 for our HK MK 23's.

When I did carry, it was 45 ACP with SD hollow points. But the most "carried" gun I have is a Remington XP-100 in 223 Rem. Used on prairie dog hunts for 15 years in three states.
