.22 ammo

You must have better luck with Midway then I do. Once I was on the computer on their site looking at other things, and the notiification came through. I clicked on it and it's was sold out. But I can sure get bombarded with emails all day and everyday hawking everything else. I have given up with Midway. Their notifications for me are worthless. Everything is always sold out when I click on them. I signed into the site the other day and removed the remaining notifications I had listed the other day rather then keep get aggravated when I get them. :)

UPS man just dropped off 900 rds. from Midway. I had signed up for notifications. Missed one last week by maybe a half hour. This time I just happened to look at my email a few minutes after the "back in stock" notice was sent and managed to get a few boxes. It was all gone not long after that. You just have to be in the right place at the right time.

I found Gander Mtn. in the 3-day free shipping promo supposedly with CCI Mini Mags in the 300 box. I ordered 2, it was accepted, but just a few days ago got a "backordered with no ship date estimate" email.

My two closest WalMarts have not seen a single box of CCI since the big promo. And little of anything else.

All of the LGS have large quantities of .22. Worse case scenario is CCI mini mags for 9.99 per 100. The drought is over

The only draught over here in my area--is the one concerning getting rain--but .22 ammo--nope. Last saturdays gun show--one of the local scalpers was showing off his "collections" of farious sized amounts of .22 he had for sale.I saw on top of his table--10---1,500 rd buckets of Remington .22--and the entire underside of his table--many more buckets and large bricks and such of .22. His pries were still over double the amount of what it paid for from getting them from Academy.

Whether or not he sold any?? I cant say. I looked, laughed, shook my head-smiled and walked away.

Locally, I have found a lot of bricks of ammo and I am not buying any more.
We have the federal 325 round packs for 18.00. Federal 500 round boxes for 24.99.
I think the panic buying is going away. The profit is getting slimmer for the local resellers who have bought most of the ammo around here.
But still, you go to Cabelas or any of the big box stores, and the ammo goes pretty fast, and it is still not cheap.
The CCI is another story, not much around here.

You must not be in Texas then. Wanna get scalped? come spend your money here.:-))

I'm still sitting on a decent cache of 22LR.

Other than a brick of CCI Blazer I picked up from Midway a month or so ago, I haven't chased or purchased 22LR in well over a year and a half now.

I'm starting to see small quantities at the local Wally World's, Bass Bro, LGS, etc...

It seems to be lasting a while too, so the crush must be easing a bit.

That said, when things do settle down, I've set aside some money and plan to add 20,000 additional rounds of 22LR to the cache.

I figure it will either increase in value and I can sell it later. I can shoot it with my son. Or he will inherit it some day and share it with my future grandchildren.

That's a win, win, win, situation.

Like I told my wife, it doesn't go bad and it doesn't lose it's value.

That makes it a good investment in my book.

Dick's

My local Dick's here in Arkansas has been advertizing CCI for $9.99 per 100 in stock.

Update: My Midway 12/18/2013 order--- on 2/08/2015- email stated that it was still intact, on 2/10/2015 they cancelled the order. Just FYI Be Safe,

Midway just sent me an email canceling a bucket of 22LR ammo that has been on back order for about 18 months. These buckets are showing up in other places for around $125 for 1400 rounds. The back order price was $65 and when advertised encouraged to put the order in.

I've been just picking up ammo at the local Fleet Farm, its been coming in regular for the last month. Usually limit of one brick purchase though.

good luck

All I will say is that it's REAL HARD to believe all the explanations as to why there is STILL a .22 shortage. After all the time that has passed, you would have thought even Hoarders would have enough or would have run out of money! I don't see any more .22 ammo on the shelves here than a year ago and when I actually do stumble on to a few boxes they are priced ridiculously high. :(

At our LGS's you can go in one week and pay 3.79 for a box of 50 and a week later the same ammo is 4.79, they have to pay what ever their supplier is asking. I heard of one LGS that has a trailer truck full of 22's and they are not for sale, I don't know what he is waiting for.

I know it isn't cheap, but LAX ammo just got in some 1575rd cans of the Fiocchi 22LR HV. I have tested this stuff and for me its every bit as good as the CCI mini mag (which is almost impossible to find). With shipping it came to about $.12/rd which is still cheaper than 9mm. I have constant feed issues with the Federal stuff, some FTF with Remington and had an Armscor literally blow the back half of the case and leave the sleeve stuck in the barrel of one of my guns. Never have had an issue with the Fiocchi or CCI.

I figured I would share this.

Saw a post awhile back that said that .22 ammo availability was back, so I thought I would post my findings.

I ordered 500 rounds of CCI .22LR Mini-Mag 40Gr. ammo on 3/31/14 from Cabelas (cost $37 delievered). It was backordered. I received it yesterday! I have seen the same stuff for $25/100 at gun shows.

I have had 2 orders with Midway on backorder since 12/2013!! Hart for me to believe that Midway has not gotten what I ordered in since December, of course they may have had a billion backorders.
Backorders ? I ordered 10 50 packs of CCI stingers in Dec 2013
completely forgot about it until Jan 2015 when I got a call from
Lohman arms in Texas saying they had them in stock and if I
still wanted them, of course I said ship them ,paid 45.00 though.
Last good deal I got was for 2 1000 rd bricks of M22's for 39.99

I bought a few of the buckets (Reminton Golden Bullet) from Dick's Sporting Goods late last fall. I think I paid $70 per bucket, on 'sale.'

I just saw a flier from CDNN advertising them for $146 per bucket. I wish I bought a few more of them from Dicks, but I didn't want to be too greedy... ;)

Ironic thing is that I always considered the Rem GBs as real garbage rounds... I use them when me and my son just go plinking, saves the good stuff for other uses.

I was in on that deal it was the first and last time they
Had them not my favorite but they go bang noticed all
The bullets were loose in the cases I was experimenting
with my Henry on the 100 yd range with a 3/9 x40 scope
Using Aguila ammo printing 4" groups switched to the goldens
And wasn't even on the paper.

..question I have is why are we seeing Federal and CCI ammo in fair quantities (both owned by ATK) but no Winchester ammo. I have not seen a brick of Super-X for sale in two years...

Hit or miss with .22 ammo, went to Dicks to pick up .357 mag ammo,
They were out of stock but on the shelf I saw CCI minis got the last 3
100 rd packs ten bucks each,a little high but availability out ranks cost
When it comes to .22's

I personally had lots of .22 on order from Midway and after a year they cancelled all orders on me. I don't believe they aren't getting in ammo to fill back orders but do believe they are selling current orders at higher prices. I think Larry might actually have one too many pairs of boots!

I rarely buy from Midway now. The only time I order is when I have no choice.

CCI Mini Mags

LGS has had Mini Mags in large quantity for several weeks. 1400 rounds for $120.
I went back in the LGS Monday of this week and the majority was gone so I bought one case. The owner told me that a lot was sold to individuals who were taking it to the big gun show last weekend and selling it in the 100 round plastic boxes.

I am a newbie so forgive me. I recently purchased S&W M&P22Compact. Luckily I was able to buy a few boxes of Remington Thunderbolt 22LR(500ea) and have had no problems with the ammo. However, seems to be very hard to find. I guess if/when I find it will buy it up. Why so scarce? Is it so much in demand and popular? Is it ammo manufacturers don't have a good $ markup? When I visit gunshops or Cabela's locally, I can find all kinds/types of ammo except for the 22LR. Why? Thanks in advance for answer to my question.
