Seriously, What is Wrong With The Tyler T Grip Co?

Their website is a total disaster. It is like someone threw up on the screen. Totally illogical. We are talking about putting a simple product that comes in 8 sizes and 3 colors out there for the world to see. Could they possibly have done this in a more confusing and messy way. Their website looks like it was made in 1993.

They don't offer the ability to buy online. Why in the world not??? Could anyone ask for a simpler shopping cart set up. They have one product, you choose a size, choose a color and done.
Must be a generation thing. I don't see anything wrong with the website. One page shows all the products in a nice simple format. I understand the newer generation has a problem with printing a piece of paper and putting it in envelope but trust me it works.

To take payments online you need to be able to process credit cards and have a bank account set up to do so. For a small business probably not worth the hassle.

Patience seems to be another thing in very short supply these days. People want everything now. In the old days you got used to waiting. I'd make a guess that who ever is running the Tyler business has all the business they want.

I used to deal with a BMW Motorcycle dealer the same way. Business was 2nd generation, cash only. Neither the father or the son advertised. They had way too many customers and didn't need anymore. More customers meant hiring more staff, more accountants, more stock, expanding the work shop, etc. They where happy with the income, the customers were happy and they just didn't need anymore headaches with growing the business.

I wish that BK's Customer service and work ethic could be combined with Tyler's design, materials and color options. Maybe BK should make Tyler an offer............

A shame they are so incompetent. They are one lucky company. How many companies do you know of that have such a demand for something that is basically an antique in the gun world, yet still so popular.

The Wondersight also comes to mind. ;)

I'm certainly glad I ordered 100 T-grips last time. :D

I have a pair, seems like eBay is the place to get them quickly. I just do not see how they are so popular, sure squish my fingers in a bad way. Maybe I am missing something, or maybe just have beefy hands. That being said, they do look good!

In the old days, and I can talk about the old days...The Tyler T grip were available almost every where if you were caring any model 10 S&W...As common as trigger adapters...Of course that was in the days of the model 10 being the number one issued revolver...I think they were available for the standard officers model Colt also...with the advent of the semi auto craze the number manufactured fell off... the Tyler T grip was so common on model 10 Smiths it was almost strange to see one with out T grips...How times and equipment have changed over the years.......Come to think about it I have changed some myself from the 60's..WOW is that a understatement....!!!!!

So I mailed in my order on 10/7. The check was cashed on 10/14. It is now a month since my check was cashed and I still have not received the little piece of tin I ordered.

Prior to ordering I left 3 voice mails and never received a call back.

No problem getting that check cashed ASAP though :) Like the day after they received it!

All I can say is WOW!

They have their priorities in line don't they...reminds me off that shoulder holster maker,,never hear about him anymore..

I agree!!!!! I am sad they are almost completely unavailable, and there is a limited selection made (metal wise) I have always wanted to get an aluminum colored one, no brass or black. Is there really NO ONE ELSE who makes them?

I finally received it today! Order mailed in 10/4, received 11/29.

Any more positive results from Tyler? I'm needing a number 8 aluminum for a stainless Speed Six in the worst way.

I think my order for a 3 or 3R took about 4 weeks, late October to November.

Bumping this thread....

My order was mailed today 3/5/15 for a #5 in flat black. We'll see how long it takes to be filled.

*Update* - Check cleared 3/13/15

Received 3/20/15

Unfortunately, many professionals, skilled in crafts, have no business acumen at all.
As an example, two of my best old motorcycle riding buddies have their own business. An electrician and a veterinarian.

Both handled their own billing and administration chores, and could not see the benefit of a $15.00 an hour office manager.
While both have a more than adequate abode, with plenty of WINDOWS; neither, has the POT to "fill", in order to throw it out one of those windows.

They both were considered as having top expertise in their field; (before retirement), but their field of expertise, was NOT, running a viable business.

Somehow, I feel like the Tyler Co. is the same.

I have ordered two T Grips for Colt Detective Special and Cobra in the last four months. I paid with USPS money orders. I received each of the T Grips within three weeks of mailing my orders. The Tyler folks called me to confirm my address prior to shipment due to confusion in how the PO lists my address. I have dealt with them many times over the past few years and never had a problem. During our phone conversation they advised they are trying to build up their inventory and get things working smoothly again. They seem like good folks.

I received my grip today! Two weeks from the day I mailed the check to the day it arrived. Quality looks good and it fit like it should. Overall, I'm very pleased. I will order again if the need arises.
