The new Ruger SP 101 in .327 fed on their webpage looks good, 4.2" barrel and adj sights. Anyone actually seen one?

I just received the email notification from Ruger today. Right idea, wrong product. Though the 4.2 inch, adjustable sight gun may appeal to some I think their marketing department missed the boat. Offer the 6 shot 327 in the 2.25", bobbed DAO carry snub and you would have a hit. Maybe we might see one.

I've not seen one yet, but I'll be bugging my LGS for one.
I got interested in .32 when a friend gave me an old S&W hand ejector in .32 Long and then I bought a S&W model 30-1. At that time, both Ruger and S&W had stopped production of the .327 Federal Magnum.
I read about the Ruger "Single Seven" in Handloader magazine and was prepared to look for a single action, but now I'm poised to get an SP101. A longer barrel might've been more appropriate for the kind of velocities that the .327 is capable of, but I'm still happy with what they're offering.
I have several Rugers and am convinced that they produce a real quality gun.

I have the same SP101 in .357. It's a really nice, well balanced set up and a lot of fun, but too big for CC and only 5 rounds.

Ruger made it in .327 Fed Mag a few years back, but discontinued it. I think they got a bunch of grief so they've (rightfully) reintroduced it.

I agree it would be a great carry gun with a 2-1/2" barrel. Still, I passed on it when it was available before, I think I'll grab one this time round.

I wish they made a 6" double action maybe it will sell this time and they will offer some variety.

The ballistics of a 2.25" barrel vs: 4.2" barrel are quite interesting in this caliber. Around 1,000 fps for a 100-115 gr bullet out of the 2.25 and 1450-1600 fps out of the 4.2" (approx for the extra .2", might be 1500-1650)
which means you are pretty close to H&R specs out of the shorter barrel. I think this caliber really needs that extra barrel length at least in the factory loads. I might like to try one of these critters.

According to the Ruger forum, these guns are just getting in the pipeline and I don't think they have hit store shelves just yet, but should be there soon. My wallet is going to take a hit again :)

That's quite a drop. It should still be a good night time SD gun. Just point it in the general direction of the bad guy, close your eyes & shoot. He'll still be blind when the police arrive.

I was at my favorite LGS yesterday and fondled the SP101 4 inch barrel but it was a 10 shot 22. I was impressed with the new adjustable sight set up they are using, it is the same as the ones they are now putting on the Single Seven.
I am so dissapointed that S&W dropped out of the 327 production. The 632's are now listing for over and getting bought in the Thousand Dollar range:(
