New M&Ps get three free magazines

thanks for the heads-up; i was thinking of looking at a fs9 this spring and this offer gives me 3 more reasons why i should.

;)

I just sold my CZ 75 BD with the intentions of buying a FS 9mm. As you said, there are three more reasons to pull that trigger now!

Been thinking about a new USPSA Production gun, assuming this applies to the 5" M&P Pro as well, or is that model considered something other than "full size".

This is the second time within a Year that they've done this and Excluded the Shield. Huh!!!

Does this mean that they consider the Shield the 'Red Headed Stepchild' of the M&P Family? :(
Or does is mean that the Shields are still selling so well that they don't NEED to offer extra Free Mags? ;) :)

I've still never gotten the .22 ammo from September last year. Not sure about the promotion management.

Either the guns sell so well, or they don't have any extra mags on hand for them. My guess is that, with so much of the market coveting concealed carry firearms, they don't have any trouble selling as many Shields as they can possibly crank out. The focus has perhaps come off the larger firearms for the time being.

I think they ran this promotion around December, too...so just a few months ago. And as I recall, it was two magazines back then, not three.

Yep...it was two free mags last year: http://smith-wessonforum.com/smith-wesson-m-p-pistols/403123-buy-new-m-p-get-2-free-magazines.html

the one problem i see to having that many mags..... i can quickly go thru 2-3 boxes of ammo each range visit and that's just using one fs mag in my 9c. How much ammo am i gonna fly thru if i have 4-5 mags on the table. Ouch.

No kidding. I had this problem with my first 9mm, a CZ P-09. It held 19+1. Go through 5 mags, and that was a $60 ordeal at the time...9mm was quite high back then.

Local Walmart sells 50-rd boxes of Perfecta 9mm for $11. The Shield eats it up. I should be stocking up on it.

Since I already have the FS 9, 40 & 45; I'm out of luck-unless I buy a 9c, 40c & 45c! :-o But I don't see that happening by May 31st when the promo ends :-(

at least i have a little time to do some window shopping to ensure the best price I'd pay since a fs 9 is a "want" and not a "need" lol. And with a Cabela's opening up by me in a couple weeks; while their everyday price may not be great their grand opening ones could be.

Just ordered a FS M&P 9mm from Budsguns. Should be here next week. Does anyone know; when I move out of this God forsaken New York state to another state that allows a magazine larger than 10 rounds, can I just get a 15 round magazine and use it in the gun I just bought?

I always seem to miss out on these promos. I've owned 4 different m&ps and lately been thinking about getting a 45c. Well, after I got the email from smith, I went down and picked up a NIB 45c!! The owner of the shop didn't even know about the free mags.

Nationwide, I don't think there are any real issues selling Shields. Note that the Nation's Finest excludes Shields as well.

As for mags counts, I have to chuckle a bit. Between my FS9 and 9C I have about 14 mags I can shoot in my C. Have a few XGrips too. I don't bring typically bring more than 3 to the range to help slow me down. Sometimes I don't even fully load them to stretch my time out.

Sadly, M&Ps are not longer on the CA roster so they are more difficult, and more expensive to come by.

I think it states that it is excluded in NYC... (the city has far different laws and restrictions than the rest of NY state)

Just picked up a 380 Bodyguard (first part od March) without a laser and I got two with the gun and one OEM mag thrown in with it for $319. Don't know if this was a factory offer or a dealer offer but it was too good to pass up..
