You need to get one -- it's a smooth, accurate shooter. The trigger is good enough that you can even go Apexless if you wish. My only caution: Ask the seller to show you the recoil spring assembly prior to purchase. You don't want one that looks like the one in the attached photo. Mine came out of the box that way. There's no need for you to expect less than perfection from S&W when you open up your new Shield. That said, even with the no-extra-charge Factory-Crumpled RSA Option, my Shield 9 runs well enough to satisfy my range junkie cravings. I've had mine for six weeks and have already put 750 rounds through it.
