If he chooses to be a potential victim, don't remove his rose colored glasses for him. If he feels that strongly about it, ignore him and move on. If he refuses to be ignored, tear him a new rearend and tell him to keep his opinions to himself. It's a right, whether he likes it or not, so he needs to tolerate it. As long as practicing your right doesn't infringe on another person's rights, he has no grounds to say anything.
Not sure what youre getting at. He has every right to tell you whatever it is he wants and you need to tolerate it.
You missed my point. He was saying (as i understand) a person does not have the right to say whatever they want to someone else. But in reality that person can say whatever they want to that person (within reason).Baloney. If I don't like your posts I can "ignore" you. In person I can simply walk away. Who's going to stop me? If a person has the right to speak their mind, they also have the right to walk away. I don't have to tolerate anything I don't want to. Especially those that like to hear themselves speak.
And again, lots of liberals own guns. The vast majority of people are a combination of liberal and conservative. Anti-gunners are anti-gunners and come from all walks of life Better advice would be 1) concealed is concealed, and 2) make new friends at the LGS or range. There is no evidence that the OP was talking to a liberal. He was talking to a jerk, and jerks can usually be ignored and avoided.Maybe get some new friends who aren't liberals?
My wife is the one who bought me my pistol for Christmas. We went to the range for our anniversary in January, and had my birthday at the range in March. She is the one who encouraged me to get my CHL. She is going to get hers, but she isn't in a hurry.I would try to point the conversation towards something else. If they were to continue be jerks I would get away from them. Also, If I couldn't tell my wife I have a CCW then I wouldn't be married to her. But opinions may be different.
No sir actually about 20 miles east of Dallas.OP must live in Austin..

I work 3 blocks from a mosque, and mother of the houses around are owned by them. On Fridays you can not leave on time because they have all the streets all and parking lots full. Officers have to direct them across the streets at the lights. I have been amazed that some dummy has not plowed through.I had become lax about carrying. Meanwhile I was getting on in years. My abilities with brute strength and with martial arts has gradually eroded.
Two Sundays ago, at church, two middle eastern men, one carrying a Koran, came in and seated themselves just to the left of my wife. There is a nest of them just across the interstate, thanks to our good hearted politicians. As best as I could tell, they were not armed, but never again.
Last Sunday I was armed, and I will be from now on. Our church has always been gun friendly, the senior pastor being the chief proponent. I'm trying to get back into the habit at least with an airweight J-frame in my pocket. I suddenly realize that I'm too old to fight. I need an equalizer.

I dropped my crystal ball and it broke, now I have to carry my gun everywhere I go.
