I agree with you. However, I wouldn't call these 'upgrade' services and would rather couch these services as bringing the pistol up to current standards (at customer's expense).
Bringing a current model up to current factory design (i.e., current pieces parts) to me isn't an 'upgrade' but rather prudent. Now, should there be a "Generation 2" M&P, thereby making this one obsolete, I could understand.
