do you carry at home?

Yes. I carry all the time, everywhere it's allowed. That way I don't have to wonder if I've got it or not. Since I can't control who can walk up to my door, I intend to be able to respond without having to go hunt up my equipment. If you can't put your hand on it immediately, it might as well be locked up in the safe!!! I may not prevail, but I'm gonna make it hot for whoever, where ever such action is called for. I'd much rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it. If I knew I was gonna need it, I just wouldn't go there. If trouble comes to me, I'd sure hate to disappoint trouble!!

I live in a two story loft apartment. It overlooks the estuary at the north end of town. Our bedroom, our office, and my hobby area are all upstairs.

I don't keep a gun downstairs. I don't walk around armed. There are two reasons for this:

1. I never know who my wife is going to have come over, and some of her friends have kids and/or grandkids. I haven't taken the time to make a secure place to keep one, so I don't. It's a short little sprint up the stairs if I need one.

2. I feel absolutely no threat of any kind when I'm here. I rarely carry around town, let alone around the house.

No kiddies in my house, I keep the old bone model of 1905 in the shop desk and keep the model 629 four inch in the night stand with some 44 special carry loads in it. Go big or go home I guess.

No. If I'm one step out my door I'm carrying. Indoors, I'm in an apartment with only one door to the outside. It's steel, in a steel frame. The windows would be difficult to get through. I'm in an apartment complex for independent senior citizens. My neighbors watch out for each other (and are just plain nosy :)).

Indoors my carry gun is in reach and my house gun is on a shelf in the head of my bed. My dog raises hell when somebody is at the door.

I just don't want to live in condition orange inside my little home all the time. A member of the church I attend says he doesn't go to the bathroom in his house without a gun. That just isn't my way.

We live on a mountainous 3.5 acres directly bordered by 1000+ acres of wilderness quality "open space" just west of Boulder, CO. Bears and mountain lions are NOT a theoretical threat, but a DAILY consideration, in addition a large concentration of druggie vagrants who seek to "camp" near town. If I am working outside for any length of time, I OC a sidearm and perhaps a long gun. As I write this, my wife and I are sitting on the couch watching Ole Miss beating Alabama, and a Model 36 is resting comfortably in my pocket...

I used to switch my Shield from concealed carry to open carry when I got home from work and open carried on the weekends. I tend to now just keep it concealed. If I have my pants on, I have my gun on, same goes for my pocket knife.

nice mix, and lots of different ideas. i know it all depends on where you live. down here in south fla. i don't go anywhere without at least my lcp. more often, a 442 in my front pocket, and a 337 in a belt slide. 1 or 2 speed strips depending on destination. if i'm heading to work, G17, extra mag and pocket my 442 with a speed strip. rural, vs urban i guess dictates what and where you carry. as said before, if i need it, i know it'll be there.

Where I live I feel there is little to no chance of a home invasion or robbery but as soon as I put pants on in the morning I put my belt and gun on as well. The joy of pocket pistols, you can carry it all day/every day and never notice the weight or the bulk.

No. Only when I leave. There's very little opportunity for any kind of attack here at the house that wouldn't afford me plenty of time to gear up. Maybe a drone attack, or if Scotty beamed some radioactive raccoons in.

Sometimes a J-Frame will find its way onto my person, but we have firearms all over the house, any of ehich can be accessed within 3-5 seconds. Revolvers are chosen, due to their simplicity. Shotguns are also secreted for the heavy lifting.

No, not unless I am getting ready to leave or have just returned; however the gun de jour is always nearby.

I carry in the House. My house is surrounded by Woods on 3 sides, and the nearest Neighbor is about 75yds away. If I'm in Bed my Sidearm is in easy reach. I also keep a Loaded Charter Arms Undercover .38 taped under both bathroom sink Cabinets just in case. No Kids Here

Off topic a little: sorry I missed that LC9s. Did you like it?

Surprised

My bed-stand firearm is 4" 15-3, rather beat up. I occasionally retouch the cylinder with some blueing paste, and today on the way to the garage I just slipped the revolver in the front pocket of my jeans (Arizona Loose/Straight). I was surprised and a little annoyed that it fit perfectly, more comfortably than any recent holster. I consciously practiced a draw, and with thumb over the hammer found there was nothing catching, even with adjustable sights. I put on a lightweight jacket, and everything was hidden from tip of barrel to the protruding and easily accessible stocks.

I used to be skeptical of Watson's frequently pocketing his service revolver, but I guess Doyle knew what he was talking about. I do often have a firearm out and loaded around the house (I'm of the constant-familiarity school) but it never occurred to me that the 15 could pass as a "pocket pistol."

I think we agonize about holsters, belts, and concealment to our own detriment.
