Beautiful revolver. Just about the ideal .357 Magnum revolver. Been shooting L-frame's since they came out. Just simply an excellent revolver. Very accurate day in and day out. Very easy to shoot well even with hot loads. Sincerely. bruce.

I probably shouldn't post this in case I get hit in the head and decide to sale, but I feel like I got a great deal. I paid $550.00.

Yep, that's a great deal and right in that -3, -4 sweet spot for the 686's.

I wished I could find a set of original grips somewhere. Thus far my internet search has failed.

you'll need to shoot it, then shoot it, then shoot it some more

and in my neck of the woods, you got a rippin' deal

$550 is a good if not great price for any L-frame in good condition. You probably won't see much lower than that, and many higher. I generally see them offered at $600-850.

Most I see here in the DFW, TX area are $750.00 and higher. The cylinder on this revolver has no discoloration. I am not sure it has been shot much at all. A friend had this and offered it to me because he had ordered a 686 in 6" from the Performance Shop.

I was happy I could help relieve him of this burden. :)

If anyone knows where I could pick up a set of original square butt grips I would sure appreciate you pointing me in the right direction. I have searched the internet, but have not been successful.

Beautiful! Great price. Wasn't the "dash" one 686 involved in the "M" over stamp program? Does this have an "M" over stamp?

There is no "M" stamped on this revolver.

Only one cylinder looks burned and that is the shot he put through his mattress before calling me and asking if I wanted it. :)

"Will the K frame grips fit the L frame revolver? " yes sir
Thank you. It has been since the 80's since I have had much experience with the K or L frame revolvers. I have had some nice 2 1/2" Model 66's that I wished I had never sold.

Congrats. It also has the firing pin on the hammer, where it belongs.

I love L frames. I used to think they were funny looking.
Then, I bought/shot one.

Great buy, you have one of the best wheel guns around, I love my 686-0 M 4" and 686-4, 2 1/2" RB. Enjoy your new treasure!
That was a great price!

Nice looking 686

And a very good price. You did good. Finding nice grips is fairly easy. Factory and aftermarket grips come in a wide variety of styles materials. I would be sure to keep the grips that came on it. They make the gun much more enjoyable to shoot compared to wooden target type grips.
And please tell us the story about shooting the mattress. That is not something you hear everyday. JA
