I bought a Great Dane at my LGS.

My sweety picked up an unfamiliar rifle from the used gun rack and handed it to me, saying "An Anschutz?? For $249??".
No, honey. It says Schultz and Larson.
He was right that it was a target .22. Heavy. Bull barrel. No-frills stock.
Made in Otterup, Denmark. Didn't know the Danes made guns.
I read Weatherby paired with S&L to create some very high quality centerfires.

Can't seem to find much on their .22's though.
They're both Model 70s.
After I got mine, one of the sales guys said there was possibly another upstairs. And there was.
So now my sweety has one too.

Any forum-ites own one/know of these fine rifles?

In the 70's I had a similar one made by Husquvarna, super accurate.

I think I would like to run across a 199 one.

Indeed. To my knowledge S&L built some MKV rifles in .378 but Mr. Roy Weatherby wasn't 100% happy with the stock. Also S&L later on said that the labor cost would rise and therefore any additional ordered rifle would increase in price, so Mr. Weatherby kept looking around for someone to manufacture his action/rifles.

Thanks for the links! Those are the ones.
I found almost all the same sites you guys did.
Thing is, we can't figure out if these are M70's or M77's.
The serials seem to be in the M70 range, but the triggers are M77's.
Gonna pretty them up a bit, then see how far out we can hit with them.
