Best money I ever spent . . .

Bought a 40 dollar wheeled wood cart. Holds 1 fire worth of wood on the covered patio, right outside the back door. Refill from wood pile on sunny days..

That is a tough one. I'm sittin' here next to my wife on a sofa we bought together. In the living room of a house we bought together. Heated by a propane fireplace we bought together.
Yesterday we drove our 4wd truck we bought together out of snowmaggedon and when we got home we had hot chocolate in our basement jacuzzi we bought and installed together.

I guess you could say, the best money I ever spent was on a portable air compressor that I kept in the back of my '86 Toyota Tercel 4wd station wagon.

You see, many years ago there was this gorgeous Italian woman with a low tire and I had an air compressor.....

lts a toss-up.. The Dillon 650 or John Deere riding mower given Dad for birthdays in years past. l get free ammo and he cuts the grass too!

This is a great thread, I enjoyed reading the posts especially all those who adopted. That is great. And yes my wife and my kids are my most valued possession, the cost is constantly running [emoji38]

The best money I ever spent was when I bought this little Appaloosa mare twenty-four years ago. She was just coming five and had only been ridden once. The good thing about that, I figured, was that she didn't have any bad habits that she'd picked up from someone else. All the bad habits she has now are the ones she's picked up from me.:)

She's twenty-nine years old now and still looks good. She's led the packstring for almost twenty-three straight years and has been one of the very best, if not the best, mountain horse I've ever owned. She walks out fast, is extremely sure-footed, keeps the mules in line, and has taught I-don't-know-how many kids and grandkids how to ride.

But, sadly, I can tell she's starting to slow down a bit. I've always believed that there's nothing that keeps a horse young better than having an honest job to do. (I also believe that goes for humans as well.) But time eventually catches up with all of us. So, now the ol' girl is pretty much relegated to giving the grandkids rides around the old homestead, but she seems to enjoy doing that.

Of all the horses and mules I've had over the years, I'll probably miss this one the most when she crosses over the rainbow bridge. On the bright side, though, when it's time for me to get "called home," I know I'll be well-mounted when I get to the other side.

Bought an 850 lb. gun safe in Ft. Collins, 60 miles away. Paid two guys $300 to deliver it to my house and move it into my basement, down a flight of stairs and through three doorways. All I did was stand and watch. They didn't even scratch the paint. That cost was WAY less than the doctor bills and property damage would have been if my friends and I had tried to do it.
