You thought it couldn't get uglier?

Can't get more serious than this

Please tell me that stuff was dipped in powdered suger?:confused:

Surely these are Airsofts that someone has made gag guns out of.

And by gag, I don't mean funny.

Count me in the column that a firearm should look like a firearm.

I realize the marketing schemes are in place to appeal to different markets, but the various colors can be a real problem in disturbances where the gun is involved. Think family squabble and female (or male) pulls the purple gun, trying to decide if it is real or not, may get someone hurt.

As to the original "decorated" Glock, there have always been those who try to individualize or make art. They just need to use a different medium than guns.

We each have our own likes and beauty really is in the eye of the beholder.

But I think this is an abomination:

In all seriousness, I'd be interested to know why you think the engraved 1911 is an abomination?

Granted, the grips are a bit over the top (I'm being polite). I've never cared for metal grips. But...what if the pistol was sporting a pair of ivories, or some classic stags?

The pistol in the photo is full coverage. There's one very similar in style and coverage for sale on a popular auction right now that I've looked at closely. My bidding on it got left in the dust a while back. It even comes with a Colt letter. If I had the money, I'd keep going on it, cause it's obviously unique and one of a kind.

It's probably just me, but I think every serious collector and eater-of-barbecue should have at least one outrageously engraved pistol or revolver and a super-duper-fancy-dancy carved leather rig to tote it around in.

I haven't found mine yet, but I will. Possibly this year, we'll see. And it'll be a large caliber, too. I want one gun that's totally unique to me, one that will be the only one like it on the planet. And if I don't find one, I have at least two candidates I'd consider sending off to have engraved.

I understand the "eye of the beholder concept". Just offering a counterpoint here.

If you like it Watchdog, go for it. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. As far as I'm concerned, that one is ugly. Changing the grip panels won't help.

Even so, it exists because someone wanted it. Takes all kinds.

It would follow that anyone who would own one of these guns is probably driving an AMC Pacer... and I'd rather not see what their kids look like :O

Might not be the ugliest I've ever seen but it has to be one of the top contenders.
