Just received my order of .38 special 158 gr. fmj and .357 125 gr. fmj. Neither cartridge will fit properly in the moon clip. They are too tight and bend the clip. I can't even get 7 in the clip. I could only force 6 and then they wouldn't line up in the cylinder. Anybody have a problem with this ammo and moon clips? What should I do now. Am I stuck with ammo that I can't use? I did shoot 200 rounds of Remingtons and they work fine.

EVERYBODY has trouble with that combination. You're lucky you can shoot the (expletive deleted) ammo without the moon clips. Just load it by hand or with a speedloader.
Moon clips for .38/ .357 are super picky about which brass they will accept: you answered your own question, REMINGTON WORKS WITH YOURS.

I was told by a S&W tech. that I had to use the moon clips or the ammo would not fire as they would be too deep in the cylinder as it is recessed to accept the moon clip. I haven't tried this to verify yet.

1) Your 686-6 should function equally well with or without the moon clips.

2) Different brass sometimes requires moon clips of different thickness; contact TK Custom and see if anything will work with Armscor: Welcome to TK Custom.com & Moonclips.com

Why would you need moonclips for a 686 . It is designed for 38/357 ammo. Or is this a variation custom gun.
