I name my S&W revolvers.

If Davy Crockett, one of my heroes, can do it why shouldn't you. I have too many to name, I couldn't remember all the names. " Be sure you're right, then go ahead" - Davy Crockett.

My dad always named his guns, I always thought it kind of strange but he took care of them like they were his kids. Shotgun was Long Tom, rifle was Buck and handgun was Little Smitty. All my Roscoe's are just that.

I name my guns. They are:
Big Boomer: SW 686 6"
Baby Boomer: SW 60 3"
GI Joe: 1911
Stormy: Beretta Px4 Storm
O'Henry: Henry 22 rifle

Now considering a Model 29. No sure what to name it.

Always name my cars as well.

I shoot Cowboy Action and have a pair of Ruger Vaquero's in .44 mag. They are not matched. The stainless is called Dexter and the case hardened is called Sinister. Dexter rides in the right hand holster, and Sinister in the left hand holster.

I have my little Jasper a 32 S&W Top break, sister M36 3 inch, brother M15, Cousin M66 and uncle Buster 686. My wife has her baby M638 Air-weight and that is just the Smith family. Most of those have a No Dash bloodline. I spend more time with the sister and brother at the range and hope the rest of them are no jealous.

I don't name anything that can't respond to it's called name. I named my kids as supposedly they are intelligent enough to respond to their called name (sometimes I wonder though)

Dog seems to respond to it's name OK but at times I'm not sure why I even named the cat as all I usually get is a dumb look when I call it's name.

To me guns are tools & I don't name my hammers, screwdrivers, or wrenches so the name they come with is good enough.

Plus all my guns come pre-named, like S&W or Ruger so why confuse them (or me) by changing their name.

I bet your mailman/lady has a special name for you after carrying all those hundreds of party invitations you receive.
