What guns make you think you want another of the same

My 1953 Colt 3-5-7 is so slick and accurate. I'd love to have another in nicer condition and my 3" Model 66. It's just plain fun to shoot

For me it would be my Beretta tip up barrel pocket pistols. I think they are the neatest thing.

My preference would actually be just having one of everything. (Of couurse S&W terminology makes that easy 1917,
M25, dashes, or 1905, M10, dashes, M12, dashes, M64, dashes or M40, 42, 640, 940, 642, 442, and all thier dashes...) Of course as the Baron said, no plan survives first contact with the enemy, I have purchased many just because they were interesting, or priced right, or because I could.

Anything I'll carry. If one goes down or needs to be sent out I'll have an identical one ready to go. I only have two guns like that and both are essentially the same thing just in different calibers. Two in 9 and two in 45. The only reason I even have the two in 45 was because of an unbelievable price

Every dang firearm I ever owned!!

Hate to sell, Love to search and buy. Don't matter handguns, long guns, milsurp, sporting, etc.

Remember your poker days......Full House (or full safe in this case) always beats two pair, three of a kind, even a straight or a flush (all S&W or whatever).:D

Well I did trade for a Beretta 70s.
Then I bought a Walther PPK and a Beretta 21a.
Revolver guy demonstrating some pretty disgusting behavior!
The Walther has 50 # double action trigger pull!

In my opinion you would want a backup to your EDC weapon in case of loss, repair, etc...etc...etc....

In my case it would be the Shield 45 and the 2.0 9mm compact.
45 for summertime carry and 2.0 compact for colder climate

Another 3" 629-4 Backpacker and another 3" 686-4

I'd also like to change my excellent 5" 625-2 with box tools and papers for a 3" 625-3 with same.

I have 2 x 2.0 C9 and 2 x Shield 9 (down from a high of 4). I have a NIB 3914 that I don't intend to "sully" so I'm on the lookout for a 3913 shooter.

Models 66 and 19-4 snubbies.

I can't believe I waited this long to "get involved" with these perfect carry weapons.

None, that I currently have. There are just too many choices out there of guns I do not own. Why have doubles, except for trading stock? Only my opinion. Bob

Doubles, not twins, on the following:

Colt Diamondback
Colt Python

S&W model 17
S&W model 19
S&W model 27

Ruger Security Six
Ruger SBH Maximum

Dan Wesson Super Mag

US Arms Abilene, Seville, EL Dorado

If you mean, same model, same maker and same caliber.

I only have two. I compete with them, so one's a backup.

I think this is a fantastic topic and for years and years (like many/most) my gun buying was on a very strict budget. That meant a lot of pining, research, saving and waiting.

By default, that made the very concept of a second unit of the same thing very nearly a ludicrous idea. In fact, I didn't even want anything ANYWHERE near any other gun I already had since it was such an expenditure/cash outlay to get something.

Eventually, as I got older and made a little more money... gun buys became a little more frequent. I still never considered buying a second of anything until that one fateful day:

first range trip (300 rounds) with my first ever S&W Model 52-2.

First reaction, "oh my God"
Second reaction "...umm, I'm going to begin my search for another one immediately!"

It was because the pistol was phenomenal AND because it was long out of production.
