There is a high polish 686-1 snub on GB right now. It is a 7 shooter. My question is when did Smith start making 7 shot no lock guns? Thanks for any info.

The first factory production 7 shot 686 was the -4 version. A -1 would have to be an aftermarket conversion.

I think I found what you're looking at. The cylinder, cylinder release and stocks are not original to a 686-1. Could be a great gun, but it's heavily modified. The BIN price is nuts.

I didn't realize you could add a 7 shot cylinder to an older gun until recently here. Someone posted one that they sent to Smith for the cylinder install. A pre-Lock 7 shot cut for clips would be the cats rear!

I agree, as long as the mechanics are spot on. The stocks add no value, but the seller sure makes them sound good.

Is it just me or does the left side of the rear sight blade look damaged? Not a super expensive fix, but it's not mentioned in the description.

It's a pretty revolver! I have spare rear sight blades and mint combat stocks here....hmmm.

The seller has been trying to unload a highly polished (highly devalued) PC 627-3 V-Comp for quite a long time...and his price is nearly double what the factory finish examples normally sell for. It's a good thing that people are well aware of this and will not buy it.
In fact, all of his S&W models are way overpriced.
