Money Bomb the NRA on 03/24/18

You guys are unbelievable!! The students marching are not anti Gunners! We need methods to block people like the Florida shooter from access to any firearms.

Yeah, like reporting somebody that is apparently criminally dangerous to the FBI.

Oh, wait....

As good as it sounds "to block people like the Florida shooter from access to any firearms", how do we do that?

Do you remember the Sandy Hook shooter? He was denied the sale of a gun because he refused to properly submit to the NICS check. The system worked. The existing laws prevented him from legally arming himself.
So, he did what criminals do. He murdered a legal gun owner, then he stole firearms from his victim and used the stolen guns to commit more murders.
That's a perfect example of why more laws won't prevent crime.
It was already illegal to murder and steal. Laws didn't stop him, because laws don't prevent crime. Laws just allow for punishment after the fact.

Also, forget the media's hatred of "The NRA". They say "The NRA" like people say "child molester".
Remember that the NRA isn't some mystical entity - it is millions of pro-gun American citizens that are resistant to paying the price for crimes that we didn't commit.
I don't think that resisting knee-jerk reactions/legislation is a bad idea.
The fight for our rights requires money. I'll be sending a few bucks in, too.

I live in New York, home of Andy Cuomo and his "Safe Act". I know what I'm talking about when it comes to knee-jerk gun laws.

I suggest it's just as important to send a hand written letter to your representatives, state and local, expressing your support for unfettered access to firearms, and that you vote, and even that you are a single issue voter.

Additionally, you might send a check for one penny expressing the fact that if the politician supports gun rights then greater donations are in his/her future.

I didn't say necessarily more laws, but effective enforcement of the laws we do have and better follow up on reporting of mentally unstable persons to the NICS database. If gun owners can't find ways to help rather than simply stonewall any debate some draconian measures may be forced on us. It is better to have open debate on any subject rather than "I'm right -you're wrong" attitudes.

And knee-jerk gun laws come about when there is no open discussion between both sides. And yes I may tend to be a Democrat but I also own more guns than all my Republican neighbors put together. The more dialog we have with law makers the more we can educate them on the real facts about guns rather than deal with a bunch who only know two things about guns some are Glocks all others are ARs.

All of ya'll, stop bickering! If you want this thread locked by the boss, shut down and forgot about, keep fussing at each other and creating a controversial thread that Hand Ejector will lock.
If you agree and want to donate, fine, "I'm in" or some such will do nicely. If you hate guns and the NRA and freedom and other American stuff, fine, move on, there's nothing for you here. Go start your own thread about all the guns we don't need. If someone in particular is trolling this thread, hit the little "report" symbol, I bet H.E. will sort it out.
Otherwise, let's let this thread build up steam until the 24th of March, and maybe we can toss a nice nugget to the NRA to help protect our firearms owning rights.
Remember, "they" don't "just" want your AR15, don't be so naive as to think that...

ABSOLUTELY! I'm in for $20 too.

I've always said you can tell as much about a person or organization by looking at their enemies as you can by looking at their friends.

For the Anti-2nd-Amendment crowd, the NRA is Public Enemy Number ONE. The fact that they hate the NRA and slander and slam on the NRA at every opportunity tells me the NRA is worthy of my support.

This is a good idea.

I think we are in for a tough fight.
Why would any gun owner not be an NRA member? Without the NRA, we'd already be disarmed.

The antis and students and talking heads are already making it a polarized issue-
"If you don't stand with us, you are standing against us."
The implication is that WE stand with the shooter.
All of us will have to pick a side.

If you guys without NRA icons are NRA members, please show the icon. Show where you stand. If you can't figure out how, see the bottom of this thread-
NRA Life Membership for $600 and Other Discounts Extended Thru March 15th <<
If you still can't do it, let me know what level you are and I'll do it.

If you aren't a member, why aren't you? Don't tell me the NRA isn't perfect, so you just can't join.....
Nothing in your life is perfect.
We soldier on doing the best we can with what we've got.
Get in the fight.
If you are a gun owner and you are not doing something to actively protect your right to own that gun, you're a freeloader being carried by the rest of us. ;)

You're also a statistic that the antis will use, as in:
"Even most gun owners don't support the NRA's position..."
Pick a side.
If you don't, the antis will claim you by your own inaction.

The NRA doesn't need the money,
That's absurd.
The NRA is not funded by big groups with an agenda. They are primarily funded by us- the little people interested in protecting our rights. We're protecting yours at the same time.

All of ya'll, stop bickering! If you want this thread locked by the boss, shut down and forgot about, keep fussing at each other and creating a controversial thread that Hand Ejector will lock.
It won't get closed.
It might get cleaned up, but it won't get closed.
Too important to let the wafflers and the antis close.

This board stands with the NRA.
We make that plain in the TOS-

WE ARE PRO NRA
We support The National Rifle Association. We believe The NRA is the biggest and best dog in the fight to protect gun rights and the Second Amendment. You may not believe that, but this board is not your platform for NRA bashing.
In plain terms: NRA bashing is NOT allowed. Take it somewhere else.

Thank you, Sir!
This is just one of the things that makes this the best
gun board on the internet.
