I just returned from DICK'S . I had a gift card and used it to purchase some 223, when I was checking out I was asked if I had a rewards card and I said "not anymore" the cashier looked at me and said "not anymore" I said yep. I said your company made a decision that I didn't agree with and would not be doing anymore business with them, he said that's your right and I agreed . He then handed the card back and said there was 3 something left and I told him he could keep it. I might not be a multi millionaire but my money is green and I'll use it else where

I went in one of their stores when they first opened here several years ago. I looked around and saw very high prices and haven't been back and for certain won't go back now. I try to do business with small locally owned stores and individuals and stay out of the larger expensive stores...except when the local Gander Mountain went under and their going out of business sale brought things back close to reasonable.

I too will not buy a darn thing from them as well. That goes for other companies (large/small) that have taken the same position. If all NRA members do the same, it "will" hurt their bottom line. The old story holds true, (i.e. money talks and BS walks).

Hmmmm...I wonder if sales of the Winchester 94, with the "Loop" lever will also be cancelled to be sold, as it is a rapid firing rifle,

Assault Rifle.

Don't believe me? I watch Chuck Conners in The Rifle Man

AR-15's boy I wish it were possible to set the news media, and most public at large straight...the AR is a Armalite model 15...Is the AR-7 (survival rifle) also a Assault gun since it's a AR? What about Armalite's model 10, for-runner to the model 15????

Anyway back to Dicks...Supposedly selling anything else, except those evil looking guns.

Ma & Pa need to buy groceries and pay the electric bill too, plus we get to know each other on a first name basis.

You're right, their line of clothes suck too...

Dick's CEO is showing his company's true colors with this dumb, political move. All gun owners should turn their backs on Dick's, and support local mom & pop gun stores that don't engage in self imposed, feel good bans.

"Dick's Sporting Goods Urges Congress To Act"

WASHINGTON, Feb 28 (Reuters) - Dick's Sporting Goods Inc, a prominent seller of guns in the United States, said on Wednesday it will permanently stop selling assault-style rifles after the massacre at a Florida high school that has reopened a fierce debate over gun control in America.

The company will also stop selling high-capacity magazines and will not sell any guns to people under age 21, Dick's Chief Executive Ed Stack said in an open letter on the company's website and in television interviews.

Dick's Sporting Goods CEO: Company will no longer sell assault-style rifles

Dick's Sporting Goods curbs some gun sales, urges Congress to act - Nasdaq.com

where was this grand gesture, prior to the incident?. just more verbal babel to appease the masses. too little too late.....

If you read the company's statement about this issue, they make reference to selling the Parkland shooter a shotgun, saying that he bought it legally from them, and while it wasn't used in the shooting, it could have been. (Italics added.) This apparently was their rationale for making this change in policy, or else why mention it? So, their policy change was based on selling a gun that that wasn't illegal, wasn't used, and only might have been.

This sounds like to me that they are afraid they will be blamed for selling the shooter a gun of any kind, even if it wasn't used, and are trying to avoid that from a PR standpoint. Yes, I am cynical and doubt their corporate motives.

Vytoland, and others As far as I'm concerned, this is just a way for Dicks and all those other's to get some free advertising..Make people come into their store, or place of business just to see if there are those guns on their shelf..Oh and while you're in there, you probably buy something else...

Sort like the airlines that said no more discounts...So WHAT....

I'm a old codger and I don't have that over 55..AARP thing either, just to get a so called discount as some flop house of a motel.

I don't think anyone has joined the NRA just to get a discount on some airline or some donut shop.

Never understood why people shop there anyway....they have nothing really.....a few long rifles, a few shotguns, very little choice of ammo, and no (0) handguns.....(according to their web site).....and what they do have is overpriced.....

They can do whatever they want to do....I don't go there, probably never will.

They only sell golf clubs and the like here. Now that is an "assault" weapon if I ever saw one.

Just ask Tiger Woods...:D:D:D

Edit: for those who need the explanation, his wife smacked him a few times with a golf club the night she found out he had been texting his mistress.
