If you're too immature to own an AR15, you're too immature to determine who else can.The students, all under 19, with essentially 0 live experience as adults in most cases, have had enough.

Many of yesterday's norms are now aborrent in our society - indoctrination of today's youth will, in time, make guns as distasteful to the general population as smoking is now.

Except they have been trying it for decades, and the number of gun owners have grown. As well as the number of firearms owned by individuals. This is no longer the day of a shotgun, and a rifle. In this day more people have multiple handguns, multiple rifles, multiple shotguns. They have more invested in ammo, and guns than the past, and they want to hang onto them.
The gun grabbers have to act fast, as people mature they lose their base. The one thing they know is laws enacted are hard to get legislated out. States that ban 18 to 20 purchasing firearms will probably stick forever. Yet the longer the wait, the less chance they will get these changes.
With the longer life of many, those many are more likely to support gun ownership. OTH most people of child bearing age are having less children. IMO by the time a person reaches 40 they are likely to be past the nanny stage of life. We outnumber these snowflakes.

Sorry to keep harping on this, "but" the News down here just keeps cramming it in our face! Over and Over the same old carp. The news/video of the SRO is delegated to several pages in from the front BUT the Students are all over the front page.
Now the media has "interviewed" several students (not from Parkland) and their opinion on things.
They of course are demanding things
They feel so unsafe at school now. What about when they all go to a movie or a mall or get in a car??
According to one of them "guns are the leading cause of death in young people"??
I guess it depends on what statistics you want to read. All along I thought it was Vehicles, illness, suicide or a number of other things??

Most of the kids I've seen on the boob tube appear to be pretty sophisticated and pretty well spoken. But how can you forget most of them were being potty trained 15-16 yrs. ago. I've got boots older than that. Obviously politicians are using them to further their own objectives. These little twerps are now convinced they have the power to do whatever they want. Growing up with no boundaries is gonna produce a bunch of smart asses with no respect for anything they don't approve of. I think teachers are now gonna have trouble trying to lay down the law in class. The whole thing reminds of the draft card burners of the 60's.
Are you speaking of kids or liberals? As it seems that there is a blurred line between them.

Post sandyhook we had CT impose bans and turn in ... even by their own figures, rate of compliance was a dismal 15% at best.
also, this era was the largest hording binge of any in our history, spanning years. I figure that made some war caches that'd ride out several decades of combat.
these things having happened are not to be overlooked. Voluntary compliance will be less that in the CT ban. if the tide pod munchers scream confiscate by force and get their way, its swat teams reenacting ruby ridge several times per week. The'd then be the enemy of the people who'd have to fight for continued survival.
Thats not the worst case though hellishly close. That is reserved for surrender where good people will be jailed and killed.
Things really have a chance to turn super stupid. this is the scariest era Ive known

It just seems to pop up in that region doesn't it.
I seem to recall the queen of darkness bumbling around India.
Probably, if the authorities had acted on tips, picked up the school shooter and taken him away a few days before the shootings, these same students would be protesting THAT.
I can hear it now; poor kid his adopted parents died, he had no one, he never hurt anyone, just getting his life back together, his guns were just a hobby why take them!
