Look like my S&W,without the crimson trace laser.
Nah. That was a fiscal issue. If you've ever been involved in the department budget, you'd know why . . . . . .
He said he was a police chief, so I would think he had something to do with a budget.![]()
The 1911 is military scrap iron! The worst hand gun ever designed or made with staked on parts, 2 piece feed ramps, tongue and groove barrel lock up hinged with a 1/8 link pin and a main spring in the butt handle that is a rust magnet. The failure rate from Colt was so high that our military cancelled their contract and gave to a typewriter company by the name of Remington Rand. They supplied the largest amount of 1911a1 junk to our forces who hated them. That's why Gen Patten refused to carry one. He carried two nickel plated revolvers, One Colt and One S&W in .38 caliber. He called them real"Fighting-man Guns"!!!! He called the 1911 a piece of ****! You get the idea.
Glock is the most intelligent designed pistol ever thought up and that's why over 60% of our police forces issue them and S&W and Sig. copied them. Thank GOD our military junked them and gave our fighting forces a real gun to use. England just replaced all the military Browning 9 mm high powers with Glock 17 and ordinance maintenance dropped 81%. Besides Browning died before the Hi-POWER went into production.
Glock has only 37 parts and rarely fail. 1911's have over 60 parts of which 37 constantly fail. They also need an oil change every 300 rounds to keep running. I would not take a 1911 if you gave it to me. In fact, they did give me one in Vietnam and I threw it away and picked up a Chinese Tok TA33 and carried that. Now that little baby could crack and engine block on a Willies Jeep and the .45 flying ash tray bounced off the tires.
So all you 1911 junk lovers can flame me all you want to but go see what is in police holsters and military holsters all over the world. It won't be 1911 junk!
End of rant! Man that felt good!
Glocks also have the unique distinction of having a body part named after them...Glock leg.
I once (well 3 rounds) shot a Glock that someone handed me to check accuracy for him.
The first shot startled me, the thing went off with barely a touch.
Two more shots and I handed it back.. NEVER wanting to shoot another one..Striker guns..not on my list.
