M&P Shield .45 OWB Holster

Hey Guys!,
First post here. I currently carry my shield .45 in an IWB Alien gear holster, But I would prefer to carry outside the waistband for comfort. For the most part I can only find Leather OWB holsters and the alien gears OWB. I would prefer Kydex or Plastic but it seems that they only carry the holsters im looking at such as the BlackHawk serpa level 2 in the 9mm and .40 cal size. Will it fit in that holster? Are there other similar holsters that are made for the shield 45? Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!

I'm almost positive (never handled one) that the 45 Shield is larger than the 9.
If you already use Alien Gear you may be able to just get the OWB parts needed and use the shell you already own to save a little coin.

As for Blackhawk and others, perhaps try contacting them directly, they are usually pretty quick on replies and may be able to tell you if they are working on a holster for your 45.

Could even try searching on ebay; may end up finding one that's perfect for ya.

If you go to the section Gun Leather and Carry Gear, you can post this question there...as well as, there is a search box in the top right hand corner labeled "Search this forum" wherein you can enter "Shield 45 holster." I just checked and it brought up about 11 pages of threads. The answer you are looking for may be in some of those threads, or may be answered in the thread you post in that forum (if you choose to do that.)

Welcome to the forum, and good luck with the search. I prefer leather holsters, myself, so I can't help you with any non-leather recommendations.

Take a look at the Comp-Tac website. They make quite a selection of both IWB and OWB holsters and I believe they list the Shield 45 among the guns they fit holsters for. There are several variations found there, and I won't second guess what your preference might be, but I can say that all my dealings with them have been very excellent and the products I have gotten from them are very well made. You might find what you want there.

JM Kydex offers two OWB holsters for the Shield .45. I have a IWB for he Shield .45 and the M&P .45 (as well a G19) and am happy with function and customer service. Suspect you would be as well.

It says it's for the Shield 9/40, but it fits my Shield 45.

I carry my .45 Shield in a leather belt slide holster that fits 1911's. Works perfectly. I carry it everyday like this. Comfortable, easy access and goes unnoticed under an untucked shirt.
