A Russian 1940 Tula TT33 WWII pistol along with a 1941 marked cavalry holster and lanyard + a Tula marked cleaning rod. This pistol was also favored by the Germans and the profile reminds me of the 1911AI. Most of the TT30s and 33s found today are in poor condition.

The TT-33 is a devastating manstopper and is without a doubt the toughest and most reliable military auto yet. Here's mine:

Great pistols, I have one of the Chinese imports with the added safety
lever. I would love to have an original old Russian T33 but they are hard
to find and pricey.

Pistol Russian 1940 Tula TT33 circa WWII

So, what Ammo does your Tula shoot? Are you able to
get Ammo and shoot it? Also, are you going to shoot it?
If you do please give us a Range Report.

I see some are saying their Pricey, so if you don't mind,
what does something Historic like that Cost?

That Tula intrigues me, can't imagine the History behind
that neat Pistol.

Thank you.

I've always liked these. They remind me of the Colt 1903 Pocket Hammerless, only much more powerful.

Last I heard Zastava Arms of Serbia still manufacturers a variant of them, but either Century International Arms has stopped importing them or they're just such hot sellers that Bud's can't keep them in stock.

Had a nice one years ago and foolishly sold it. One tip for you, when shooting wear ear plugs under ear muffs, that is one loud cartridge. Enjoy that one!

Know your 7.62mm ammo! Some Czech stuff made for their M-52 roller-locked pistol is too hot for Tokarevs and old Mausers.

I understand that Chinese gangsters prefer this or the old Mauser because they'll shoot right through police vests. As pistols go, those bullets will penetrate until next payday.

Don't know how they'd fare on a grizzly bear's skull, though.

Had an old Broomhandle Mauser back in the 1980's (pre internet) that a buddy talked me into using some cheap copper washed COMBLOC 7.62 ammo (because you know its the same ammo right ?!?! ) ...
Uh...NO...that stuff was meant for the heavy full auto bolt commie PPSH sub machine guns !!!

The HUGE FIREBALL at the muzzle followed by everyone on the range going... What the total F? .... thankfully alerted me that something was amiss before that old Mauser bolt could self destruct !

OP also has one without the later import safety molested ones. He is a LUCKY BOY to have one!!

Firing one is reminiscent of firing a Ruger .30 carbine loaded with ball powder! Lights up a dark range and let’s the wannabe Rambo’s with minimal ear protection go “huh? What did you say? Say again?”

How about a zombie?

I have a pair of '52s that are spectacular to shoot.
Bullet trajectory out to 60 yards is like a laser.

Almost forgot. I picked up a pair of 9mm barrels for them years ago, while the gettin' was good.
Lot of fun when they feed right.

Great thread. Here is my RVN bring back dated 1966. ChiCom copy. Some pitting but considering the rough life and violent end for its previous owner, not too bad.

Third pic was taken about 8 klicks from the Cambot border and used as a Pysops leaflet meant to scare the you know what out of the NVA/VC.

Just kidding!

There were a lot of captured weapons, but bringing them back I.A.W. DOD regs made it a real nut roll.

That's if you wanted to do it legally and not just throw it in your hole baggage.

One of the relatively few pistols of that type that I haven't owned at one time or other. I had a (now deceased) friend who had a Chinese Tok in 9x19 (I think he also had a 7.62 barrel for it), and we put a few boxes through it one day about 20 years ago. I liked it, other than it won't win any beauty contests. I've not heard any stories about their being favored by the Wehrmacht.

I've always thought it would be neat to have a 7.62 barrel for a M1911.

Very nice find. I've owned the Chinese version with interchangeable barrels and did not like the added safety. The safety always seemed to vibrate into the wrong position both carrying and shooting. I presently have a Romanian which I bought when they were fairly inexpensive and ammo was < $100 for a 1200 rd case. Everyone if correct about penetration and muzzle flash. I've always though it was too bad no one ever made a little carbine for this round, like the old Spanish Destroyer carbines in 9mm.
