Pizza Memories.....

snow and sleet here this evening, so we decided to stay in and order a pizza from the local independent pizza shop..(the ONLY one we want pizza from),,in a half hour a large veggie pizza......mushrooms, onions, green peppers, black olives, green olives, spinach.....was delivered at the front door.....my t fine eatin.....

We used to go for Pizza Buffet....

I do not eat as much pizza as I used to. Too many of the friends that used to help me eat them are gone now. Plus, my metabolism is not what it used to be. Whenever I need a pizza fix nowadays, I run down to the mall and get a couple big slices of sausage pizza at the food court. They make it pretty damn good.

At work the big eaters would go for pizza buffet and no matter who was there and when, the same guy was there. Finally we asked him and he said that he loved pizza so much he ate it for lunch and dinner every day. After a few years he wasn't there any more.

I just looked up information about Chef Boy-ar-dee pizza kits. They were first marketed in 1955 (I thought it was a little earlier than that), and still available today. But I don't remember seeing them in stores.

I can remember my mom making pizza from them. She would have bought them at Kroger's or the A & P.

Son! Ya godda lot ta learn about Pizza! Thick crust, thin crust, cracker crust....e

Ya gotsta look at it with an open mind. No stinky fish EVER!, Sausage = good, pepperoni = good, NORMAL vegies = good. Find a sauce you like and also a Romano/Palmaisian/Provalone mix

For those who may not have tried it, the Pizza at the food area inside Sam's Club stores is fairly decent and reasonably priced. However, I usually eat the hot dogs there instead of Pizza, especially the Polish hot dog. Far better than the hot dogs at Costco. The Sam's club closest me closed about this time last year, and it is a considerable drive to go to the next closest one in town. So our visits to Sam's are much less frequent than they used to be.

Growing up in Boise we had a few pizza joints. Shakey’s was the one that comes to mind first. Now we have tons of pizza places.
With age comes complications and I can no longer eat wheat products. I make a gluten free pizza crust offered by Chebe’. It is made with tapioca flour. Precook the crust til almost done then add a basil pesto sauce, veggies, pheasant and or quail and cheese. Fire up the Traeger, put it on the highest setting. Takes about 20 minutes depending on weather. Hard to beat this ith a commercial pizza.

Being the parent of two gluten sensitive kids....check with your local pizza joints....we have at least two locally that offer gluten free pizza and pasta!!

Did someone mention Pizza, one of my favorite things to eat, brought up in NY and there isn't anyplace that makes the best Pizza. I live in Florida and nothing here compared to a NY pizza.
Here is Lombaradi's Pizza, best place for Pizza in NYC.
