I never wanted ANY .44 Magnum with a barrel under 4". BUT, I met people who had them but didn't want them either, and were selling them for lunch money.
I got the 624 after a terrible problem with a similar gun from another manufacturer. And the price was right.
The 357 Magnum came from an estate sale. I really liked the look. It had an apparent serious flaw so the price was very low. After I bought it I found all it needed was a good cleaning. It is in excellent condition and obviously fired very little. Minor wear on the cylinder suggests it spent at least a little time in holsters. I just liked its looks.
