Luxury Watches

I don't know if they are considered Luxury watches, but I have been very satisfied with the Tag Heuer. I have had Omega Seamaster, and Rolex Datejust and feel the Tag is built just as solid and keeps time as accurately.

All the "Tag" references made me wonder.:D

I'm so old that none of my 2 Heuer have "Tag" written on them.

As bright and blue as the Sinn lume is, check out the Marinemaster!

It's as bright as a wall clock.

No radioactive components, just modern luminova or the equivalent.

You're going to love it! Price is right too.

Comes with 18mm fat spring bars.

For super quality oyster or jubilee bracelets at an unbelievable price, check out Strapcode. Unfortunately they don't have anything for the 6105.

My most expensive watch is a Tag Monaco I bought last winter in Vegas. I've wanted one since seeing Le Mans, just really couldn't justify it. Thankfully a bottle of bourbon while my wife was out shopping convinced me.

Don't wear it that often, my daily for work is an OD G Shock, and when I'm not working I rotate between a Bulova my wife gave me or a Citizen or a square case Seiko I found recently. Nothing high end but they are really very nice. Good enough for me.

I used to keep an eye out for Patek's or Vacheron's when garage selling hoping to find one grand pa brought back from WWII, most people had no idea what these watches were or worth years ago before the internet came out and ruined it for the rest of us.

Citizen to no name

My most expensive watch was a Citizen watch I bought on vacation in the Bahamas. It was a family trip that took years to save up for and my youngest son was 8. I wanted a nice watch and worked a ton of overtime to have some pocket money - cost me around $300 which was a lot for me at that time.

Fast forward 10 years and my son graduated from Parris Island and entered the fleet. The g force he bought got lost when he did combat training

Wife and I went to visit and on the last night of our visit we went to Walmart to get him some groceries for the barracks. he said he needed a watch so he bought a cheap 8 dollar watch at Walmart but once we got back on base he realized it needed a battery. He said Damn SSgt gonna be pissed if I don't have a working watch so I traded him mine.. Wife about died of shock and my son teared up but i figure he needed it at that moment in time more then me. I told him once he is out I get it back and we shook on it. That was over 2 years ago.

So right now my most expensive watch cost exactly $7.99. My son signed his DD214 a few weeks back and is coming home for Thanksgiving- A medical discharge due to a back injury - in another thread I mentioned selling some guns to help finance my wife being there for his surgery. He's doing fine.

So I guess I'll find out if he keeps his end of the bargain and I get my Citizen back.

I don't get it, and don't even wear a watch (my phone tells me the time) but I do enjoy reading about you fellas and your high quality timepieces. Good on you.

I promised myself that when I got out of the navy I'd buy myself a Rolex and a sheath knife that was supposedly made by Randall. In 1078 I took a plane to Puerto Rico and as a side trip the island of ST Thomas. Thre you can buy anything. Found a little shop called "Little Swizterland. You walk in and the store looks like one on 5th avenue in NYC. after being shown some rolex watches I found one I could afford. Cost was $225 American.
42 years later still have the rolex but to get it cleaned and checked out now costs about $600 or roughly almost 3 times what I paid for it. And still no randall knife. Frank

Sorta like firearms, a lot of people just "don't" get those either. lol

You do realize you could very well have a Rolex worth 10's of thousands of dollars don't you? Early Rolexes are bringing "museum prices" right now depending on the model. Get it looked at soon. Can you post a picture for us to see?
Read my post #54 about the episode of Antiques Roadshow.

Hey, the best vacations are the one's that don't follow you home (paid for). Good luck with your sons surgery too, we have two career Marines our self.

still have my Gene Autry and Roy Rogers watches round here somewhere. I haven't worn a wrist watch since I retired from the Fire dept. But have had some really high end watches over the years. Only ones I kept were some decent pocket watches

Oh yeah there is nothing like a quality watch. I appreciate them just as much or more than a well made firearm. My Omega Speedmaster Professional. Moon watch.
My wife and SIL picked it out for me about 5 years ago. I don't have any other nice ones yet but I sure like to window shop. I want an Omega Dark Side of the Moon but they are north of $10K. I have almost walked out of a few shops with one. But have resisted up to now.

Just love quoting myself.

Might as well add good pictures of them.

A 1976 Jarama that I bought new in 1979 for the princely sum of 150* bucks. :D

A 1976 Carrera II that I bought second hand with a broken mainspring in 1985 for 7 bucks because the owner was not willing to spend the 80* bucks it would cost him then just to replace the mainspring.

EDIT * Made a mess on the cash conversions.:o The values are now correct.
