Well, as the owner of an original 4" nickeled Python, and reading all the whoopee about the new one, I was all set to consider getting one.
That is until I determined that the new Colt does NOT have something that S&W revolvers have seen fit to install on most of of their currently-manufactured guns, making them easily light years ahead of the competition!
This
glaring deficiency on the Colt is a real deal-breaker for me, and I'm sure for most of you other loyal S&W fans....
The new Colt does NOT have that
beautiful hole in the side of the frame for an internal lock!!!! How could they ever introduce a new revolver without such a pivotal and essential component??? I am, my friends, AGHAST at the omission of that marvelous, necessary and eye-catching feature that we have all grown to love and admire on new S&W revolvers. Not having "the hole" will surely sound the death knell for the new Python. I can't believe Colt's management would let this happen! Surely S&W's patent has expired by now, and there is
no excuse for Colt not to pick up the ball on this device and run with it! I mean, what the H! I am
so disappointed!
As most of you know, I am a great fan of "the hole" and this omission by Colt really set me back on my heels. For them to be so fundamentally oblivious to the incredible advantage of having a hole in the side of their new Python, well, it's beyond belief! So sad...
