Stimulus Checks

the Fed didnt have our direct deposit info so we figured we would just have to wait for a paper check down the road. Their new app was live this am so just a couple minutes worth and i was able to get our deposit info entered. Regardless of when a payment is received I just dont trust it being in the mail.
So having the option on the IRS site to set that up where needed is nice; though I bet it could crash like any other site hit hard lately.

Nothing yet here either, but I suspect it's because even though we filed electronically, we weren't due a refund so no bank account information was included on our return. I'm thinking ours will come in the form of a check, whenever it does finally arrive. Now that I read about what the check will look like on the memo line, I'm not even sure I want it. Disgusting.

I do read that in a few days, the IRS will have a feature on its website where we can press a "Get My Payment" button that will provide the status. That should be good for a few giggles. :)

In our case, whenever the funds do arrive, they'll be used to shore up our finances resulting from my wife's being unable to finish teaching for this school year. The government decided to call this a stimulus payment, but for most of us, it's more of a life ring tossed to the many floundering in stormy economic seas during this crisis.

Yep. IRS.gov

I believe it was Forrest Gump who said; something about having a million dollar wound, and the government must keep that....didn't see any of it. Nothing in my account. Why do we get pennies and big business gets $$$? Feel like we are being bought off cheap!

Got a notice about 8 PM last night there had been deposit activity in my account, then a 2nd notice. I had to go check and sure enough in addition to my expected monthly SS deposit there was a $2400 deposit. I'm surprised, I expected the SS recipients to get their checks last. Our "stimulus" will be split amount my 3 grandchildren who are out on furlough from their jobs. They can use all the help they can get.

Got ours today. Full amount. Like everyone else bills need paying. Trying to find a beater truck too but probably won't find a decent one around here.

You live on the wrong side of the country or you could buy my 77 Chevy C10.

Since we don't file by the internet, we will patiently wait for a physical check in the mail.

I don't understand why the IRS doesn't coordinate with Social Security - they have been direct depositing our monthly allocation for years, and they should be able to provide our bank account number - I used to do programming at my entrepreneurial business, and even I could probably figure out how to throw that switch, saving money and time. I guess there's no reason for that snafu - just policy.

Seriously... just had a Model 51 pop up on a local forum. Been looking for one of those for a long time. It's taking incredible restraint not to buy.

I just checked my bank account. Was kinda shocked to see they had deposited almost double what I should have got.

I forgot I get my SSDI gets deposited on the 3rd Wednesday of every month.

No $1,200 for me yet.

Checked my account earlier and it was in there. Mine will go to a tree service as I have a fallen tree in my yard from a wind storm 2 weeks ago. Part of the tree is on the ground and part is still standing but leaning.
