Random Object Photographs

This is a shot I took of one of the most iconic military aircraft of all time, the P-51 Mustang. This one has been fully restored to flying condition. I recall them flying over our house in Phoenix when I was a boy during WWII. They were impressive then and still are.

That's an awesome picture, and P-51.

One of the first Trucks that the Army bought.
Notice where that steering wheel is.
And look at that Milk can.
Gas? Water?
When this truck was new the Jerry Can was way in the future.

Does that "FWD" on the radiator mean front wheel drive?

Also, is that the gas tank right behind the driver's seat? One shot into it might instantly incinerate the driver...

Stands for Four Wheel Drive Auto Company.
Located in Clintonville, Wis.
I think that is the fuel tank.
Many early vehicles didn’t have a fuel Pump and needed high gas tank mount for gravity feed.
La Bajada Hill between here and Santa Fe is known for Model Ts backing up it.
Reverse was their lowest gear and backing up put the gas tank above the engine.

I've been hunting the same property, along with my lease mates, for over twenty years. There is a logging road that runs down a long hollow where three other logging roads and several game trails converge.

I placed a ladder stand in the draw when we started hunting the property and it has been very productive. About 35 yards from the ladder stand is this beech tree that was, many, many years ago, part of a fence line.

Yesterday, while turkey hunting, I sat down next to that tree and took a couple of photos of the barbed wire that protrudes from the bark.

The turkeys were a no show.

Life in a Jeep, I defy anybody to ride in one of these and get out WITHOUT a smile on their face.
