Random Object Photographs

I got out for another ride yesterday with a good friend.
I had been told there were a couple of trails being blocked by some downed trees.

The first one was a pretty good sized tree.

I'm still impressed with my little 14" 40-volt chainsaw. :D

Once cut my friend dragged it off the trail.

Open once again.

We had lunch here at the Barney Lake overlook.

The second tree blocking a trail.

I cut Kevin drags.

Mission accomplished.

Between the two of us we got in 16 hrs of volunteer work for the day.
We are both registered volunteers with the US Forest Service.
A good friend manages the trails on the Paiute Trail and will get almost
$27/hr put into his budget for each volunteer hour worked here on the trails.

Our reward for the day. A herd of about 25 elk.

Several had already passed by before I had my camera ready.
At least two of the cows has twins following them. :D

Turn your volume up. I've never heard them soo talkative.

It was an awesome day.

I guess these pictures aren't soo random. ;)

I took this shot from the back of the Royal Hawaiian hotel, looking out to Waikiki Beach. My wife and I celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary here.

I really don't care much for the moon.
I live in a very rural area and when there's no moon the sky is full of bazillions of stars and its stunning.

The last few nights the moon has been soo bright that you would almost think its daylight.
