...and she's probably got a point...I collect a lot of different things. She wants me to sell some stuff off...guns, guitars, motorcycles, etc. She said the other day that I really only need one handgun. So, the question is...what do you guys think about that new Colt Python? Did they get the bugs worked out yet? :D

My wife STRONGLY encourages my existing and potential hobbies - I am an obnoxious PITA when I find myself with free time - which I go out of my way to limit!

Regarding the Python: I have both read and heard that the kinks are worked out, just not sure I have the stomach to pay what they are asking for the new ones - not that I have even seen one in person yet!

Wife, " I think you should sell your guns"
Husband, "your starting to sound like my ex wife"
Wife, "you never told me you were married before!"
Husband, " I wasn't"

Fortunately, my wife never complains about my guns and hunting activities. I have a decent collection and hunt a lot. I'm not a boozer, gambler, mean, or a chaser, so I guess she thinks it could be worse.

Hobbies are what keep us going! Every man NEEDS something to look forward to the next day and taking that away is not a good thing unless you are ready to check out. Not saying you shouldn't cull down a little - but to completely sell out of a hobby you are active in is a shame!

The Colt Python woes have been addresses and fixed. The minor problems were corrected and problems with the new batches have been very low from everything I have read.

When I hear about hobbies I remind my wife that I could always have a girlfriend. Regarding my new Python (paid $1550 OTD) went to Colt for muzzle repair at the end of January 2020. It hasn't come back yet!

Did you have an older Python? A friend of mine has two older Pythons and went to the shop to consider purchasing a new one. The owner asked him if he had an older python and when he replied yes, the shop owner told him he would be disappointed in the new one.

Anyone who has both care to comment. I have never owned one so I am curious as well.

That's the way I hear it. :D:D:D

Several years ago I brought in a new hand gun and wife ask what do you need that for. I said I don't need it I wanted it. Nuf said.

That's kind of where I'm at with the new Colt Python. I've always admired the older ones. Certainly not willing to lay out the kind of cash they are going for. I don't need another .357 Magnum. I've got them in everything from 2-1/2" snubby to 6" barrel, K to N frame S&W and Ruger GP-100. I have a Colt Combat Commander, but I feel the "collection" should have at least one Colt revolver. The new Python fits the bill for me...providing they take care of the known issues. :)

Hmmm.

I had one of those, once.

(She gave me the heave-ho.)

Now I have two hobbies: (1) accumulating, shooting, and carrying different S&W revolvers, and (2) collecting, shooting, carrying, researching, and writing about S&W Chiefs Specials (yes, the two are mutually exclusive).

Happier, by far, now.

This year I've been saying that all these protestors, rioters, looters, anarchists, and such "Need hobbies."

SORRY

I am sorry, but I just dont get where one spouse tells the other what they can have or not have? I just wouldnt allow it. Been married 53 years and the only time my wife has ever said such a thing to me was when she thought I might get a Harley. All she said was she didnt think I would be safe due to medical concerns and she was right. :)

fair is fair, I dont tell her any thing like that either. Works for us.:)

My wife does tell me what hobbies I can have, She does not tell when I can bye a gun, I fact Saturday afternoon I was $20 short on buying a gun I asked her for the $20 bucks. I came home with a Ruger SR 9 carbine. she was fine with the purchase. She quilts and has a room full of material and sewing machines and attend quilting camps.
