I ran across a S&W 2nd model Russian. Appears to be nickel plated. Has English barrel roll marks with “Russian Model” at the end. All complete except for the lanyard loop (stud is there , no ring), and the trigger guard spur has been shortened. Fully functional, although the cylinder lock up has some rotational movement. Here is the rub however, the latch lock up is pretty loose. Are there any methods out there to tighten this up?

When he was still in the business, I had Dave Chicoine tighten a couple .44DAs for me. There are several methods depending on how/where it's loose.
Sometimes, you just need to squeeze the 'ears' on the barrel together a little bit.
Very light peening on the dogs on the frame can work.
A little bit of welding to build up material might be necessary if it's too bad.
I don't have any that old, but I've got several NM#3s and .44DAx.

Sorry folks I don't have the revolver in hand. i saw it in a store and was allowed to examine it. To me that was a rare treat. I was curious as to the viability of repair.
I apoligize if I confused anyone.
