A small request please....

Fortunately the grammar nazis have disappeared but something else is becoming annoying at least to me.

All too often I'm trying to read either a post or the comments and words are missing throughout what someone types. I'm not perfect with my grammar or punctuation but I at least try to make complete sentences that make sense.

It only takes a minute to proof read your post before hitting the "enter " button and makes your post more enjoyable to read.

I agree and I also admit I sometimes don't get it right. But there is an option to EDIT a post. Maybe the posters don't look at what they've typed/posted? Perhaps they don't even see a problem.

What makes me scream, (to myself,) is totally misspelled, incorrect words and sentences that do not make sense by members that have a LE badge in their "credits". Okay some might be Corrections but still. I can not imagine their reports.

I'm not ranting, just trying to support the original observation/peeve. Sometimes I'm worried about my apostrophes being in the wrong place but it seems "they" are moving towards not even using them anymore. Sorry JohnHL.

My grammar is far from perfect and my hands don't work near as well as they usta.
Sometimes it takes me a while to try to persuade my gimpy fingers to get my thoughts down and then my sentences are filled with mistakes.
I do proof read but sometimes I miss some of the mistakes.
If somebody takes the time to contribute their thoughts to the forum, that's plenty good enough for me.
Perfect grammar or not.

I always use "Preview Post" for my comments before I post them. That way I can tell if my typos make any sense.

My feeble mind still moves much faster than my feeble fingers.

I find find myself rethinking while typing and end up with a a lot of double words.

There times even after proofing I don't catch them all!

I used whiteout for a long time, until I figured out what the edit button was for. Now my computer screen is a lot cleaner!

Where I live there's a FB page titled Sevier County Rant and Rave where people go and whine about things they don't like and there are very few post positive comments.

Maybe we should start one here. This would fit nicely.

If posting were a literary work, we'd all have editors. Autocorrect works ok most of the time. Was trying to post about catching a couple of nice stripers and it keeps changing it to strippers.

If it were deemed necessary one could do a write up on notepad and have grammar, punctuation and sentence structure corrected....problem is, who cares enough to do it, doesn't affect my paycheck at all..... who is here that posters should be striving to impress?

The thing that drives me nuts is when I have nearly completed a long and brilliant post, I apparently hit some combination of keys that deletes the whole thing.

Knowing I will not be able to duplicate what was lost, I usually just go on to something else......

I used to get 100s on my report cards for spelling and grammar in grade school. Back in the 60s! I duznt mater know moore! But, for those who care, the abbreviation for et cetera (French for "and so forth") is etc., not ect. Yore welcom!

And then there is "auto-incorrect," which is more hindrance than help, to me. Still, careful proofreading will solve even that issue.

I notice sometimes I have to correct auto-incorrect two or three times before it reluctantly accepts that I might know what I am doing.

Yes I know I make some errors when I post sometimes but hopefully its small enough it does not change the thought I'm trying to convey.
