Last night I watched the new movie The Phenomenon. It was an interesting documentary about UFO's and the fact that the government has a lot of information that they will not release to the public. Of course, people have been saying this for years so I don't necessarily what to debate that point. However, the movie did make me think of an event that I experienced about a year ago that was interesting to say the least.

While on vacation at the North Carolina shore, my wife and I were sitting on the deck of a home facing the ocean. It was a fairly clear night but there was a very high layer of scattered clouds. At about 10pm, a solid red light passed directly over the house headed out to sea. I would guess it was about 1,000 feet above where we were sitting and was completely silent. We couldn't see an outline of anything but the light was fairly large and bright. It moved out to sea somewhat slowly and at about a mile off shore it stopped. After being stationery for about ten seconds, it went to the left extremely fast for about two miles and then stopped. Then went further out to sea by about five miles at the same fast speed and then stopped. From that point, it slowly went up for about five seconds and then accelerated instantly to high speed upward into the clouds and disappeared.

At the time, my wife and I thought that it must be a military drone of some sort. We believed it had to be military because of the size of the light and the top speeds it was reaching. I'm guessing that the speeds had to be in the hundreds of miles per hour range.

So after the movie last night, I began looking on-line at different types of military drones and saw ones that travelled at high rates of speed. However, I couldn't see where high speed drones could move at high speeds and make right-angle turns and achieve the same speed in a vertical direction.

I still believe that what we saw was some sort of large drone but wanted to see if anyone was familiar with equipment that is fairly large, is silent, moves at high speeds, and has the ability make right angle turns from horizontal to vertical direction.

If anyone is a fan of aerial military equipment or the Extra-Terrestrial, please weigh-in.......

Any object that is in the air, and you don't know what it is; is by the very nature of the name, an Unidentified Flying Object. UFO's have existed since well before Wilber and Orville!

As a kid I lived on the North side of Columbus Ohio, we had many strange and unusual objects in the sky, we were only 10 or 20 minutes by jet from Write-Patterson AFB. As I look back, We didn't see little green men in the sky, we saw green tax dollars flittering away! No the Air Force won't tell you what it is! It's a Secret!

One of my hobbies, in addition to my gun interests, is doing UFO investigations for the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON). They do a great job of investigating UFO reports and are not affiliated with the government. I highly recommend that anyone who has experienced an unusual event such as this report it to them. You can do so anonymously if you wish. Most reports are explainable, but your experience may be one of those rare ones that is not. That makes it potentially important for MUFON to look into.

I can tell you that they do exist . My sighting was in daylight hours and not just bright lights in the midnight sky . It was fairly up close and personal and lasted for quite a few seconds . I know what I witnessed . I have a pretty extensive aviation background . THere are people that laugh , think it's funny when you tell them what you have witnessed , it's no wonder many sightings are not reported . So yes , they do exist . I have personal testimony of it . Back in 1980, at work one night, I saw a pair of lights going across the sky. They looked for all the world like a set of headlights. I tried for some time to convince my coworkers that it was Fred McMurray driving his Model T (from the Disney movie Absent Minded Professor),

but nobody would believe me.

Later I was told that it was the gooney bird from mosquito control, and that for some reason he had his landing lights on as he was flying.

There is not a doubt in my mind that we have crafts from other
places visiting earth. Way to many examples to deny. A friend
who had an uncle very high in government once told me all his
uncle would say about UFOs is that if the public knew 1/2 of what
the government knew, there would be mass suicides.

Some UFO stories are pretty compelling.
The Disc on the ground in a Special Weapons Storage Area - that means Nucs Girls - in England comes to mind.
Some Air Policemen and the Asst Base Commander saw it.
One AP says he touched it!
The Disc made sounds, vibrated, emitted lights and flew off.

Next time Ancient Aliens is on TV notice how many times you hear: Could it be? Do you think? Some think! Perhaps, Was this a signal? Was this a communication? Was this a warning? Maybe, Were they decendants of aliens? Hours of questions presented in a manner that makes them sound like facts rather than fantasy.

I think there is a subtle but important distinction to be made:

There is no rational reason "not to believe in UFO's". The possibilities for their existence, and other worlds beyond our are endless.

On the other hand, there are usually good reasons to be sceptical about most specific UFO encounter stories, and government cover-up tales.

Near where I live, some famous photos were taken in 1950. There is little reason to believe aliens fly about in upside-down kitchen plates. The incident did give the town an annual Alien Parade :)

Ancient Aliens and a mermaid show presented as a documentary are nonsense, I think.

The UFO I saw was valid, verified on USAF radar and was pursued by two F-106 fighters. As the planes approached, it took off at very high speed and was soon gone, out over the Atlantic. An officer and I viewed it in 7X50 binoculars, but the altitude was so high that it looked like an aberrant star performing maneuvers no known aircraft could accomplish.

See post 15. I've seen that case before and believe it, and the Navy has recently released footage of F/A-18 's trying to catch UFO's.

There are too many credible sightings not to believe in at least some UFO's.

As for Bigfoot, I'd say maybe a 65% chance.

About 35 years ago my BIL got what he said was a good look at "something" sort of floating in the night sky. He was a on duty Deputy in a very desolate part pf his duty area!

He said nothing over the radio but reported it to higher ups at end of shift. Was told off the record that over the course of time there had been a couple mentions by other deputies and a couple home owners about this area, but nothing put in writing.

His superior told him to also forget about it. There were only a couple people he ever told the story to. Obviously one was me!
