NRA Elections

With the exception of Jim Wallace, I am disinclined to vote for any of the incumbents or Nominating Committee recommendations.

I haven't studied the ballot yet, but I will look for those who are running on their own. And Cajunlawyer, of course.

It is a bad sign when an organization selects a "slate" of candidates and then tells its members that those candidates are the annointed.

The NRA has worked it's way into deep trouble and it's obvious to me that continuing on the same path will only make it worse.

Caj, I hope you also frequent some of the other gun forums, and can garner their votes too as well as ours.

Best wishes and good luck.

Just remember though, when you get elected, you've still got a lot of friends in low places.!!!!

Add one more vote. Just filled out my ballot, I'll drop it in the mail tomorrow. Good luck.

Threw mine out. figured it didn't matter much which thief is voted in. Sorry, just MHO and I don't know any of them. The abuse of our membership fees is well noted.

Voted Caj today.

Being well familiar with the election practices of our sister state to the south, I am holding out for a sufficient bribe, 'er I mean gratuity, 'er I mean consulting fee to "Vote Caj."

I would throw in after I get my consulting fee, and graciously at no extra charge, a long-standing way to gather votes in the ARKLATEX is to fill out ballets from the names found in the local cemeteries. As I read of one disgraced election commissioner testifying at his trial—"hell he had only been dead a few years, that vote was nearly fresh!"

If anyone voting in the NRA election wants to improve the chances of a particular candidate (write-in or otherwise), only mark your ballot for that person, and that person only. It will greatly increase the impact of your ballot.

When voting for officers at my local union hall, we did this all the time; but, of course it was an unwritten rule that we don't talk about it! A friend of mine told me about it like it was some big secret and don't say anything to anyone about it. I said I've been doing that on gov't elections since I was 18! But, it is a good reminder if there's someone you really want in office. Our local primary a few weeks ago, a friend was running for County Sheriff. He was the only person I voted for on the whole ballot! Dang it all, he lost!

Gary, you have my support. My club is pushing for the return of John Sigler, a former NRA President, to the Board. I have known John for about 10 years, and he is a man of high integrity. I know that he is very critical of much that has been happening at NRA.
