It's just a dog

E451F215-6C5C-4817-9406-4BB4CFF709D0.jpg First Grey, a sweet female that came from up north. Been adopted by someone that could not take care of her so back to Greyhound rescue( long time gun show friend ran).Had to teach her everything, stairs, jumping in vehicle and eating decent food . She would take the whole bed at night, the male would put his head on a pillow, fold his legs in and go to sleep. Greys do not smell or have dander and their thin fur vacuum's up easily, wonderful pets.

Since the wife and I have determined where our ashes will rejoin the earth, our family have started depositing our beloved 4 leggers there. We are something like the Pharos of Egypt; we are prepositioning our pets! At the Great Resurrection of All, I'm hoping I can get them in with a good word. If things are different than I believe, I'm hoping they can get me in with their good word!

Ivan

Miss you Chance, Brutus, Duke, & Guy!

I bought his mother a state away and later traveled 400 miles to have her bred. He minded me like a child and we traveled to dog shows all over the US and we won nearly everywhere. I met my wife at a dog show while traveling with him. He changed my life forever.

All those people who think that they are 'just another dog', are just 'another waste of oxygen' and maybe should have our pity....they just don't get it....

Daisy would strongly encourage them to come around.....she is maturing into a beautiful young lady!

God I miss being greeted at the door, wet nose long tail going a mile a minute. Asking for no more than a pat on the head or a back rub.
Always knew when I had a bad day, He could bring out the sunshine on rainy days.

I love dogs and have always had them around. They are always there even when no one else is in your corner.

"Always try to be the human your dog thinks you are"

An odd sentiment, but wise advice.

We have a house full of em and love em all dearly. But when they are all gone we're gonna be done, I think.

That's going to be many years off, so it may change…

I know this is a dog thread, but cats are pets too.
This is Pepper. Wife says she's like a dog because if I call her, she gets on my lap. In the morning when I get up, she starts meowing and calling me to give her some treats, and every so often she starts meowing during the day, so I know it's time for me to go sit on the couch, and when I do, she jumps on my lap or lies between my legs.
When we finally get into our new home, the Wife wants a dog too.

Best friend has a "Dog Cat", acts like a dog in every way, got her when they lived in TEXAS. Heard about her for a few years, last month I finally met this Cat. Never seen another like her.
Daughter and SIL have another " cool cat" that I always joke about catnapping when I leave their place, her husband the surgeon would chase me down, lol.

I guess I'm prejudice! I Been dog bit 8 times (twice with rabies treatment!) and still love dogs. I been seriously scratched twice by cats, a would just as soon never see another!

I have had some wonderful cats, but there is absolutely no comparison!

In other words, YMMV. (Your Mangling May Vary)

I like dogs and cats better than humans.

Truth right there.

Oliver and Chessie.

Oliver is my cat. He's my buddy. Comes to the door when I get home. Talkative cat. He'll be 13 this year, still active and playful.

Chessie is more bonded to my wife. He was a feral kitten, took a LONG time to get him to be social. But he's a sweet cat.

I like dogs too, grew up with them.

When I retire I'd like to get one.

Bailey isn't a dog. She is an almost 13yr old gal we rescued (over 11 yrs ago) that is a loving family member. Who just happens to shed on the couch.
Frankly, we have never had "just a dog", but rather have had different members of the family who had some unique traits.
