Of late it seems ammo is being offered all over the place, if even at higher than acceptable cost. While I need none, I hope the majority of folks are turning their collective backs on most of these offers, unless they have a REAL need. I just think its a shame of the greed of some of these distributors. Some add 'free shipping' but the bottom line in my book is still to high. Guess we all do as we wish but I still think its worse than a big shame. JMHO

I think it is starting to turn around. I am seeing greater availability as well. My opinion is that prices will start to fall as retailers realize that it is sitting and as you know in retail you have to move the merch.

I have even seen powder as well. Once the primers become available prices will fall. I think they will be a bit higher than pre-CV19 dues to the rise in lead copper etc.

But prices will come down.

Busy this evening cleaning out a closet. Wonder of wonders!!! Found 500 rds. of 9mm ball that I simply forgotten! Bought it way back when it was cheap. My wife stacked various boxes on top of it. I lost track of it. Very glad it turned up! Hopefully when I'm down to a box or two ... maybe prices will be back to normal. Sincerely. bruce.

I doubt that I will ever buy another round of ammunition. I’m 74 yo and have a stockpile that would send many snowflakes into shock. I also have a Dillon progressive and thousands of primers. It is conceivable that at some point in time I could be forced to buy some bullets. All my casting equipment and lead were lost in a family squabble. But, likely I’ll not need any additional ammo unless I should buy something that I don’t have ammo for. That’s highly unlikely.

OP, I'm with you. I see ammo available everywhere, but still high priced. I have plenty and haven't bought any in a while. I have passed up name brand 9mm for $21 a box, so prices are coming down some.

I saw 9mm at $17.99 at a store yesterday. It was Fiocchi 115gr FMJ. Most stores here are double that.
The store that had the Fiocchi was sold out by late afternoon.

Checked one local LGS Friday. 9mm ball at $35 per box. Saw an ad for major online retail with 9mm ball at $400/1000 rounds with free shipping.

Yeah... When ammo started to show up a few Months ago, it was 3X the price we were paying Pre-Pandemic. Now these same places that were charging 3X the 'old' price think they are giving us a real deal by charging (only) 2X the Pre-Pandemic prices??? :P
No Thanks.

As ammo manufacturers continue to churn out ammo as fast as possible and new shooters settle down and stop panic buying, we will see the supply continue to grow. When it starts sitting on retailer's shelves and especially wholesaler's or manufacturer's pallets and not moving at 40 to 50 cents a round, we will see prices drop. This is nothing more than economics 101.

I sold some of my excess over the last year for way more than I paid for it, and now I'm able to slowly replace it for way less than I sold it for. Some calibers you still can't find at any price, but it's working out for me . . .

I've sold some to new gun owners I work with at cost to help bring more people into the sport. I'm also trying to get them to join the NRA, though they seem reluctant.

I have been finding components to reload and if prices are a little higher I will buy, if prices are sky hi I walk. I did pay $56.00 for 1000 cci SPP and said that was to much I should have walked.
now I have whats NEEDED as I don't hoard I SHOOT.
Now it is a waiting game for prices to fall.

“ Normal “ will be about 25% higher than 3 years ago.
