What's for breakfast again -

Normally a bowl of bran flakes w. raisins and regular milk, a banana and coffee from the French press.

On cold, miserable winter mornings, McCann's Steel-cut Irish Oatmeal with raisins & genuine maple syrup.

Beer for breakfast? I posted this somewhere here in January 2020 when someone brought up the subject and I'd come across Founders Breakfast Stout:

At 8.4% it is indeed pretty "stout", even with the oatmeal porridge to soak it up and a couple of mugs of strong coffee :D

Light beer? "Heavy" beer has the equivalent of two eggs, five strips of bacon, and two slices of toast in every can.... Get you through until wife gets up and makes "brunch". Ask me how I know.......
Amen to that :) Reminded me of this extraordinary story from a few years ago:

Man will drink just beer — no solid food — for the 40 days of Lent
To Chris Schryer, beer is a hobby, a passion and a side job. And for the 40 days of Lent, it is also virtually the only thing keeping him alive.

"...Mr. Schryer estimates the German lager is providing him with 2,000 calories per day; just below the 2,350 to 2,600 calories Health Canada recommends...."

Hmmm... Maybe I should get back to my Anglican roots... :D

Up tonight can't sleep so making a large pot of vegetable beef soup....but not for breakfast. Going to make an omelet with onion green peppers mozzarella cheese...side of home made breakfast sausage, an english muffin(Thomas's) with homemade Strawberry jam...or maybe homemade Black Raspberry jelly(jam without the seeds) good cuppa coffee for me... Tea for momma. The eggs are as fresh as you can get 'em too. Stole 'em fron the chikins today

Quaker Instant Oatmeal, Maple flavor or the various Fruit ones. I also like "Just crack and Egg" products, but I use 2 eggs instead of one.
And, the old standby, Eggs, Hash Browns, and sausage.

We have a grocery store in the next City over from us that has one heck of a meat counter. They make their own sausage, and one of them is Garlic flavored. We really like it.

Good choice.

Alton of Good Eats is my favorite TV cook, and Chef John of Food Wishes is my favorite video blog cook.

Is this a photo of your own home made Lemon Curd using Alton's recipe?

No, that is a stock photo as mine is now an empty jar.

PS: Alton and Zimmern are my two favorite foodies to watch.
